Dogs aren’t just pets, they’re family. What many dog owners don’t realize: dog waste doesn’t just disappear. It can harm soil, water, & wildlife. The fix? Simple: pick it up & pack it out. Let’s protect the places we love.
💚Share this to remind your fellow dog lovers!

Durable surfaces matter, and one of the simplest ways to protect land and water is to do so, especially in the spring.
Spring trails are soft and vulnerable.
Stepping around mud can widen trails, erode soil, and impact nearby water.
Stick to durable surfaces. Walk through mud, not around it. Respect closures.
Small choices now protect trails all season long.
Fire on the ice helps protect fragile shorelines. Use base logs, burn only dead and downed wood, respect living trees, and leave the site cold, clean, and snow-covered. #leavenotrace #wintercamping
Loving our natural spaces means more than enjoying them. It means caring for them.
💚 Practice responsible stewardship w/Leave No Trace.
💚 Deepen your connection by spending time outdoors.
💚 Learning more about your local ecosystem can deepen your connection to the land.

This Black History Month, we honor Betty Reid Soskin, John Francis “Planetwalker”, & Leave No Trace Ambassador, Philip Henderson for their extraordinary contributions to public lands, stewardship, & outdoor leadership. Their stories inspire us to explore, protect, & celebrate the outdoors.
Winter hammock camping can be low-impact when done right.
Wide tree straps. Healthy trees only. Minimal snow disturbance.
Food stored responsibly. Everything packed out.
Snow hides impact. Spring reveals it.

Public lands stay healthy when people know how to reduce their impact. Education isn’t extra—it’s how protection actually happens.
Ice fishing sustainability is about thinking beyond today’s catch. What we leave on the ice shows up later in the water, the fishery, and someone else’s experience outdoors.

Winter recreation should protect the places we love, not quietly pollute them. Many traditional ski and snowboard waxes contain PFAS that shed into snowmelt, soil, and waterways.

Education, stewardship, and science don’t happen by accident. They’re sustained by people who care enough to support the work behind the scenes.
Most of the trouble out there happens when we head out without a plan. A little prep goes a long way. Look over a map, check the weather, make sure your gear is ready, choose a route that makes sense, and tell someone where you’re going and when you’ll be back.

Winter doesn't mean no impact. Snow hides damage, but it doesn’t prevent it.
Frozen ground, stressed wildlife, and thin soils mean winter mistakes last longer than you think. Staying on trail and planning ahead protects land and water year-round.
When we step into wild places, our choices matter. By planning ahead and carrying the essentials, we reduce our impact, increase our safety, and leave room for adventure.
Plan ahead. Pack smart.

In the year ahead, let’s travel thoughtfully, recreate responsibly, and protect the lands and waters we love so they remain wild for generations to come.
Cheers to a year of learning, stewardship, and leaving no trace. 🌲
As the year ends, one thing is clear: when we learn together, we protect together. In 2026, we’ll be expanding our research, training more stewards, and reaching more communities and we want you with us. Let’s make stewardship the brightest part of the new year.
