Everything is tied back to disability. When people are dehumanized, many do what they can to tie it to disability somehow and make it so that they don't get treated with decency. "That person is mentally ill." "They are lazy." "They're stupid." By fighting ableism, you're fighting dehumanization.
Immigration props up the health and social care industries. Most of the support I get comes from immigrants, yet there's still a shortage of workers. Immigration is not only a matter of accepting people, it's a practical issue. Without it, our industries will collapse. We can't afford to oppose it.
