Wonderful passage from @epopppp.bsky.social new book "Thinking like an Economist: How Efficiency Replaced Equality in U.S. Public Policy" detailing 3 ways someone's values may conflict with conventional econ approaches to public policy analysis (Berman calls it the 'economic style'). 1/5

A lot of fun to read, this from @bhgreeley.bsky.social (if you're not an economist).

The list of stakeholders consulted for the Draghi report is out. It lists four pages of “trade and business associations”, “professional consultancies” and “companies and groups” and only *1* single trade union.

Glad to see this piece on the New Popular Front from Piketty and Cagé. While almost all the attention has been on the gains by the right, the success of a unified left with an ambitious program seems like just as an important story from the French elections. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

I'll join my mainstream colleagues in admiration for the late Robert Solow. One thing I particularly admire is that he wanted nothing to do with the modern macroeconomic theory that took literally (and then "microfounded") his thought experiments about economic growth. www.jstor.org/stable/27648...
