Know the feeling from when we moved Mam out after 60+ years. Had to go on the market - and a year later we exchanged the day before she died. She got much better care than we could have given her. Be proud that you're doing what's best for him.

Don't forget, April 1st is the one day of the year that the Daily Mail is required by law to feature one true news story. See if you can spot it before it gets deleted at noon.

New rules don't let him win so he's spitting his dummy out. No loss, bad loser.

Doing this twice a year does seem like an utter waste of everyone’s time, tbqhwy.

Indeed. I've just ended my week by unfollowing hordes of people whose personal views I once respected but all they do now is forward stuff I didn't ever want to see.

Britain's trade chief races to Brussels to avoid 'Made in Europe' shutout. British officials fear that excluding the U.K. could lock its firms out of key supply chains and skew procurement decisions in favour of EU-based competitors. Politico, 5 February.

Keeping UK businesses connected to European markets is essential for competitiveness and growth. From green industry to advanced manufacturing, Europe is moving ahead - the UK needs a closer relationship with the EU to make sure our businesses can move with it.

Never thought I’d be one of those who refuses to pay their licence fee, but Kuenssberg is one step away from Leni Riefenstahl now and I’m paying for it, so there we go.

I was 27. Now 75. Now have perhaps 6/8 flights a year, since 2004/5. (some of those are doubles - transfers at Heathrow/Amsterdam for instance)

New post just out:

"Troubleshooters"

How fixing the many small frustrations - that make up most of our interactions with the state - can give people faith in goverment's ability to make things work.

Fartrage & Tice say the minimum wage is “too high” – especially for youngsters. They want employers' NI contributions cut instead.

£1 in the pocket of the low-waged gets invested in the local economy. I don't know anyone on minimum wage who stashes their cash offshore to evade UK taxes. Do you?

Video

Please watch & share this footage of 2 lovely guys (faces clearly captured on CCTV) who just stole my bag from under my chair, bending it like Beckham in what is evidently their signature robbing move. Maybe it will be shared widely enough they don’t get to do it to anyone else. Stay safe out there.
