I was really happy to see Cave Story and Hotel Dusk there. Both games left an impression on me.

The expressive flexibility of Unmatched is really fun. Designs like Shakespeare's deck make me pretty eager to try whatever they put out for it.

Sometimes processing board game returns at the library means cleaning dry erase boards. 😅

The kids at last week's program loved Madrino. I was worried it would be too complex/random, but they really enjoyed designing and explaining their own floors. It was borrowed immediately.

Finally got Pride of Ninja to the table. Card drafting with a front/back row dynamic for effects. Comes with 2 decks, and we enjoyed both but Red was definitely more thinky with some risky strats for scoring. Love the artwork and card resolution post-draft.

Three comic books released today, including Assorted Crisis Events, Absolute Wonder Woman, and Absolute Martian Manhunter.

Haven't been this jazzed for new comic book days since middle school, when I went from reading Secret Wars and Strange Tales out of boxes in my cousin's old room to following then current runs of Avengers. It's so nice to be excited about monthly releases again, especially when they feel so timely.

Was skeptical I'd dig Bleeding Hearts but I should've known not to doubt Camp's writing.

I'll get this question when I demo, and in that context I can at least flip it back to them by asking what kind of games they like and go from there. But the same weirdness is there of implying I should give them preferences when I'm there for every title the publisher has. . .

Both Petiquette and Pick N' Packers are great for the holidays because they are fun to watch and ESPECIALLY listen to.

"Why would you stack the truck like THAT?"

"We need to go HERE, why aren't you pushing?!" "I AM!"

Barbecubes was a pleasant surprise. Very simple dexterity game that makes good use of the tin as a mini grill.

I LOVED Snowp. The scoring rules make the final shots of each round exciting as players plead for others to not eliminate their color.

Unmatched: TMNT was a homerun. The Krang co-op scenario presents a lot of challenges from different directions, but the board synergies with Krang's cards make it stand above the previous Adventures box. Love that the turtles work well together for co-op but stand out individual for competitive.

Always a pleasure at the Oink booth. Petiquette was REALLY fun to demo and it was great to see Subtropical Japan get a wider release as Tropichaos.
