But democratic practices have never really been something they’re interested in.

This came off the back of scapegoating hardworking activists and kicking them out of the party for the crime of liking a tweet.
It’s a basic failure of how to run a political system in the interests of the people who have put you in charge of it.
It was clear at the start that appointing the twice-sacked Peter Mandelson wasn’t a move of political genius. It was risky, it was flawed and, most importantly, it was entirely unnecessary.
It was, at the end of the day, a political appointment - a reward for getting this faction into power.

🏴 Policy proposals from our new paper, The New Frontier, that progressives in Wales could look to implement.
But come what may next month, one thing is clear: the progressive parties cannot afford to waste this moment. The progressive majority in Wales depends upon it.

In and amongst English local elections and Welsh Senedd elections that look bad for Labour, Scotland stands out - they had their reckoning with Labour in 2011.
Our podcast with Stephen Flynn MP and @tommysheppard.bsky.social will dive into just what is next for the country.
In just under a month, the people of Wales head to the polls to elect a new Senedd.
If the polls are to be believed, the political order in the country will be turned on its head.
Wales is the new frontier for the politics we have long predicted.

And so this year we're presenting CHANGE: NOW! Mobilising the Progressive Majority.
actionnetwork.org/ticketed_eve...
Last year's conference, 'CHANGE: HOW?', brought over 450 progressives together to push the Labour government to deliver on a decade of renewal.
But one party or one movement don't have the solutions. The progressive majority in Britain needs mobilising.
Both Andy Burnham and Caroline Lucas have spoken passionately in favour of PR so perhaps this is the place to be for the fight for Proportional Representation!

They want to dodge fines and dump sewage freely
This deal would reward Thames Water's abysmal failure, setting a tragic new low for every single water company
We've got to stop them. Email your MP now.

🌊This is how privatisation works:
1. Underinvest, pile on debt, and siphon off billions in dividends.
2. Send the bill to the public when you’ve turned rivers into open sewers.
3. Repeat.
Time to kick out profiteers and put the public in control. Time for public ownership.

The Australian Labor Party did something most social democrats can't this decade - win ANOTHER election.
But how did they do it and what can UK Labour learn?
We sat down with New South Wales Legislative Council Member Anthony d'Adam to find out.

The Right would rather eat each other become allies.
The public would rather they eat each other too.
Progressives can't afford to waste this chance. The progressive majority exists and now is the time to make it a reality.
"a pro-PR campaign is building within the Parliamentary Labour Party. Each MP involved is convinced that it won’t be long until something has to give."
