Very happy that my favourite Swedish Fuzz merchants MONOLORD have dropped a new single ๐ถ
Kudos Heathy and Stu, felt you got the mood just right with this one and dared to go where some choose not to on this topic ๐ค
Football's Dirty Secret Brexit, Racism and British Football The comforting story that England and-English football told itself in the early twenty-first century was that its once over- whelming, audible racism had been silenced. Rather than baying crowds, anti-racism statements over the public address system and pitch-side adverts were now the norm at every club. The sports press were sufficiently self-righteous that, where the England team was concerned, they could angrily condemn the racism of Spanish and Slovakian crowds. In this regard John Terry, the Chelsea and England captain, did the cause a favour, making it transparently clear that racism was alive and well when, in 2011, he was captured on film saying 'you fucking black cunt' to QPR's Anton Ferdinand.ยน Just eight days earlier,
With Farage trying to Do the 92 and Braverman attacking FA efforts to increase diversity in football coaching, this is very timely.
Looking forward to this #itfc

Was a good show last night, I've been critical about how some of our fan platforms weren't using their platform, even seeing how some had deleted posts which were critical of the club's handling of it which made me cynical but last night Rich and Ben did a great job so hats off to them #itfc
Kudos @bluemondayitfc.bsky.social
I was initially critical about how some of our (checks notes) "Fan Media" had dealt with this saga and felt some weren't using their platform effectively.
Rich & Ben did a grand job last night piecing everything together. Kudos ๐

Tractor Girls suffer late heartbreak on their return to Portman Road ๐ค #itfc
Watch now ๐
Reform retweeting the Ipswich Town women's account, which had put out a programme cover painted by a fan. The Reform retweet shows an image of Farage holding an Ipswich shirt, treated to make it look like a painting.
Even as Ipswich's CEO is trying to sorry-not-sorry his way out of allowing Nigel Farage to use the club to amplify its message of hate, Reform are trolling the Ipswich women's team. Perhaps now the CEO will finally realise what he's done and resign.
Sad to see #itfc now being trolled by Reform UK by reposting and repurposing Louise Cobbold's match day programme art for today's Women's game at Portman Rd ๐ข
You'd be hard pushed to find a more disingenuous apology. I'm far from being a human behavioural psychologist but you don't need to be one to realise this is neither genuine or sincere, the body language & oenergy is that of a forced apology from a school pupil who swore at a teacher. Waste of time.
Picture of me in a 2024-25 Ipswich home shirt with Chaplin 10 on the back, holding a placard saying Ipswich Town and anti-fascist, Farage not welcome, Ashton out
The only Ipswich Number 10 I recognise is Conor Chaplin
I unreservedly apologise.
I won't actually address what for.
There were some untruths.
But I won't mention those.
We must learn. As one.
And move on. As one.
"I'm sorry you're upset" type energy.
Too little
Too late
Zero accountability.
Says there's been some mistruths but doesn't address them.
"I'm sorry you're upset" type energy. It's our fault for being upset. How silly of us.
We're like mushrooms - fed on ๐ฉ and kept in the dark!
Ashton out. Tired of the BS now.

The gift that keeps giving.
The sad state of affairs that has unfolded this week at Ipswich Town Football Club has really overshadowed my discovery and enjoyment of Angine de Poitrine ๐ถ
Jack this struck a chord, kudos.
An excellent and thoughtful piece ๐
This week's #itfc blog - on something unforgivable

Ashton and his cronies have to go Martin.
We're a special club with tolerance build into our DNA but we cannot people at the top who lie to and gaslight the supporters and what looks like the internal staff too.
What a sorry state of affairs.
No one, or their ego, is bigger than #itfc
Mark Ashton,
Your time at the club has to end now I'm afraid. As CEO & Chairman the buck stops with you and as fans we've been lied to and gaslit.
This IS the end.
Not the end of the beginning.
Not the beginning of the end.
The end.
All the best, thanks for 99% of what you've done.

Logged back into my X account the other day, deary me what a sorry state of affairs that platform is now.
Interesting however to see which prominent #itfc accounts either haven't said anything at all or are calling anyone with a problem to be "leftist", "woke" "wet wipes" etc.
True colours etc
Nice one Heathy, well written and pertinent.
I'd expect some significant developments to this "situation" in the coming days I would have thought.
Over to you now Town.

Ipswich Town is a special football club. Theyโve got so many things right over the past five years and beyond.
But they got this badly wrong - and now they should apologise.

Nothing further from any senior figures at the club.
Starve something of oxygen and it usually dies.
Interesting that Talksport quoted an unofficial quote from inside the club about the after effects.
This isn't going away anytime soon I don't think.

I first leaned towards thinking that Farage's disastrous photo-op at Portman Road was due to incompetence (and Reform tricking the club into letting it happen).
But that was before Ipswich Town FC released this statement. Clearly, they knew what would be staged, and went along with it.
I feel numb. I've heard from a few people who won't set foot in the stadium because of this. Friends from marginalised backgrounds who have supported the club for 30+ years.
The stupidity of this whole thing is beyond comprehension.
I am however proud of our fanbase's response to this sorry saga
Goodness me, this isn't going to end well
Here we go. The Athletic has evidence that Ipswich falsely briefed that it didn't know about the visit.
"[We have] seen a message sent by an associate of a senior club figure to a Reform official asking for a meeting with Farage during his visit to the town."
