"The ones who remained with ICE over the past year are there because...they want to kidnap children...pepper-spray grandmothers...murder women like Renee Good. Not just for the money, but for the thrill of kidnapping, torturing, and killing with impunity...The others already quit." - Crimethinc

I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell you!
I've facilitated tech workshops for years but finance/accounts is hardly my biggest strength. If you're in #England, have such skills, are passionate about alternatives to #BigTech, and would like to be part of a part-time, remote, #Covid safer, scaleable small tech co-op, let me know!
I'm a graduate of @the-sse.org but I want to be part of a democratic #NonProfit organisation and that means a #cooperative model.
Just popping on here to say I've been getting so much interest in this concept! I've even started tasters already. But I've called it The People's Tech not just because the people - and not govts/corps - should have control over their own tech, but because I want it to be controlled by its workers.
"I want to develop a not-for-profit, part-time, 'small tech' worker cooperative to discuss and highlight technology at the intersection of sustainability, security, privacy, and ethics." From the founder here: www.mediaactivist.com/whats-irl-re...
Thanks for sharing my article; hopefully it proves useful. And I agree on the Fedi Tips account - invaluable! (Of course, I even quoted them in that piece!)
“For now, Mastodon will likely continue to be perceived as lesser to Bluesky until the inevitable ‘enshittification’ occurs, at which point more people will (perhaps finally) realise that Mastodon,…
I'm not sure that's the kindest way you could have addressed this, but nonetheless I wanted to apologise - I had wrongly assumed you knew of each other and that you didn't know he was on Bluesky as well as X. So it ended up as unintentional "snitch-tagging." I'm sorry, and I feel bad about it.
I realised afterwards it was perhaps not helpful to tag you in, actually, and I hope you'll accept my apology.
I agree there are no need for assumptions, since there is also no need for excuses.
I imagine he hates modern wrestling because the product put out by WWE is overproduced shit. We don't need excuses for his statement, simply because he's not wrong. And this is what we Mastodon folks call a snarky "subtoot" so hey @iandrewdiceclay.bsky.social I'll tag you in, friend!

it used to be the economy was the way we provide people with food shelters and other necessities to keep them alive. now we are all supposed to die for the sake of the ecomy. What is this thing they are talking about. is it just code for rich people. class power, or what.
Why is the priority of the economy not to house the homeless and ensure everyone has good healthcare?
while I’m being cranky, access journalism needs to go. When the president does his “I’m alpha because I insulted you” thing somebody needs to fall on his sword and say “what the fuck is wrong with you, old man?” on a hot mic. the hero of the wizard of Oz is Toto.
Hundreds of Americans lost their jobs or faced discipline at work for making comments about Charlie Kirk after his death in September, new reporting from Reuters finds, as the Trump administration whipped up a frenzied crackdown against Kirk’s critics. This is likely a vast undercount.
Interviews and records show the White House intervened on behalf of accused sex trafficker Andrew Tate during a federal investigation.
The incident is the latest in a string of matters where the Trump administration has inserted itself to help friends and target foes.
A purple and teal ombre background has large blue title text that says: “Long COVID Trans People: Navigating Across Gender Clinics and Long COVID Care.” Below this is an illustration of a trans person with brown chair and short pink hair and pink high heels, sitting in a purple wheelchair with a big glowing pink heart in their arms. The footer reads, "Long COVID Essentials, www.tiny.cc/LCE. A series by The Sick Times x Long COVID Justice."
Aqua and purple gradient background with white text boxes and black text that says: “Trans people are more likely to report having Long COVID than cis people are. According to one survey, over 27% of trans adults reported ever experiencing Long COVID as of September 2024, compared to 14% of cis men and 22% of cis women.” There is a graphic showing bars of various lengths to represent these percentages. Additional text says: “More research is needed. Some advocates suggest lower income and less access to healthcare among trans people could contribute to this pattern.” The footer reads, "Long COVID Essentials, www.tiny.cc/LCE.“
Aqua and purple gradient background is titled, “Options for talking to providers, continued.” Below this, a white text box has black text that says: “You can also request a referral to a Long COVID clinic, or another specialist who understands and sees people with Long COVID and related diseases. If possible, ask people in your community about recommendations for these providers. Note that not all Long COVID clinics are familiar with treating trans people.” Below this a green organic shape has black text that says: “Directories of Long COVID clinics, COVID-informed doctors, and more: Additional text includes the link to the webpage: “longcovidjustice.org/connect” The footer reads, "Long COVID Essentials, www.tiny.cc/LCE."
Aqua and purple gradient background is titled, “Look out for more research.” Below this, a white text box has black text that says: “Some research suggests that sex hormones could influence the body’s immune response, which might affect the severity or symptoms of Long COVID. For example, one preprint (not yet peer reviewed) found that people with lower levels of testosterone were more likely to have worse Long COVID symptoms. This article includes more info about sex hormones and the immune system. More research is needed to better understand why trans people may be more at risk for Long COVID and to develop treatments.” The footer reads, "Long COVID Essentials, www.tiny.cc/LCE."
Did you know that trans people are more likely to report having Long COVID than cis people are?

I'm a cybersecurity expert and I know this sounds like a joke, but it's true.
And Copilot is definitely malware.
And if you don't use Linux (avoid Red Hat and Fedora though!), your PC is completely accessible to the fascist regime in the US. And you forgot about Ed Snowden. 🤦🏻♀️
"David Graeber traced the long arc of civilisation through cycles of credit and violence. Periods of trust and mutual obligation gave way to eras of hierarchy, slavery, and debt peonage, when the moral logic of reciprocity was replaced by the coercive logic of repayment. Debt then became a weapon. Kings, priests, and empires used it to bind the powerless to the powerful. Today, that same dynamic persists: in the relationships between banks and households, creditors and governments, the global north and the global south. Debt is not merely financial; it is moralised subordination." . - Richard Murphy
It is good to know about the history of Debt.
Subvertised fake Amazon ad on a London street. Photo of Amazon echo/Alexa device with the headline: "At Amazon we don't just listen to our customers... We spy on them"
Body text: "Amazon is the world leading provider of your domestic surveillance data to police and security services. From your Ring®️ camera observing you and your neighbours, to your Echo®️ device recording everything you and your family say... "But don't worry, we don't just spy on our customers, our staff are among the most surveilled workforce in human history, and our racial recognition technology is now used by everyone from the Pentagon and ICE to the Israeli military."
New poster I designed for a Brandalism campaign in support of MakeAmazonPay.com
UK and Norway won nature's lottery in 1970 - found oil/gas in the North Sea.
UK squandered wealth, appeased corporations.
Norway levied 78% tax, took direct stake in companies.
Norway now has $1.8 trillion sovereign fund. UK has public finance crisis.
UK Govts still appeasing corporations/rich.

If your politics have become “We must do fascism-lite, or the fascists will win”, then the fascists have already won.
To have failed to build a just society after beholding hair such as this is a bitter indictment of humanity as a whole
"Pay attention to that man behind the curtain!"
Where are the episodes with Ric Flair and Brock Lesnar? Oh, I forgot...

I did indeed subscribe (to the combi - 2000AD *and* Judge Dredd!) and even signed up for the forum. But from the looks of this, it's Judge Dredd himself monitoring registrations rather than @molcher.bsky.social! (That'll teach me to use my real name for once!)
