I have about 50 power points at my house. That means three are 50 chargers per car. Or in the language of this article, about 0.02 cars per charger. I wonder how many fuel pumps this journalist has at his house?

This article is so dumb. I don’t know how many homes have a fuel pump? The vast majority of EV charging is done at home. Overnight. While it’s just sitting there!
What’s the problem with it?
I think you missed the point.
Then we must address wealth inequality. Tax the mega rich. Tax wealth not work. Stop the mega rich from squeezing the middle class and the governments out of asset ownership
I don’t think it’s that sophisticated or thought through. It’s easy to make people fear something when they’re feeling marginalised.
“You’re missing out because immigrants”
“Uh, ok”
Allegra Spenders proposal puts a spotlight on just how starved Australia is of independent sources of policy thinking untainted by vested interests. www.crikey.com.au/2026/03/12/a...
What the SA state government did in 2023 was a disgrace. Totally undemocratic.
The real problem is wealth inequality. A billionaire earning just 5% on their assets will make $50m per year. $1m per week. They can’t spend much of that on goods and services. Most of it will go on buying more assets, pushing asset prices up, squeezing out govt and the middle class.
Correct, money is debt. It’s not a real resource. Real wealth means real assets: property, land, stocks, gold. These are things that need taxing. Mega rich people don’t “work” for a salary. They generate passive income from their assets. I couldn’t care less if doctors make $300k. Good luck to em.
Tax wealth. Not work.
Exactly right. Tax the super rich. Tax wealth, not work. Fix wealth inequality so that the middle class and governments can stop the squeeze out of asset ownership.
Where are all the strong sensible candidates for the upcoming SA state election? It seems there are plenty of fringe right wing parties plus the traditional big 2. But that’s it. Where are the candidates who promise taxing the super rich, to fix wealth inequality and look after the middle class?
And tax the mega rich.
Tax the mega rich!

If Albo is right that children are obliged to lie in the bed that their mother made, why is he sleeping at the Lodge and not a public housing flat, while the children of the "ISIS brides" must remain in a refugee camp in Syria? Seems a little inconsistent, logically, just saying.
Here's a nice clear wide-eyed view of housing unaffordability, taxation & the new poverty developing across the anglosphere - don't imagine it's 'immigrants' or any other billionaire funded diversion into One Nation. Listen closely and vote accordingly. youtu.be/cB9pK0qHSoA
One Nation, Liberals, Labor, they are all the same. They refuse to take on corporate power, refuse to invest in public housing and essential public goods, then play politics with immigration to divide and distract us.
Zero !!
AOC nails it. Showing a greater understanding of economics than most economists
Plus they know it stops people talking about taxing the rich and fixing wealth inequality which will truly help economically.
Tax the mega rich. Fix wealth inequality - which is the reason governments and the middle class are being squeezed out of their assets.

Great to see the billionaires getting their immigration talking points front and centre. Anything to avoid talking about fixing wealth inequality which is squeezing the middle class and govts out of their assets. Immigration crack down will achieve nothing and cost of living will keep increasing.
Billions lost in revenue from the gas cartel, billions sent to two G7 nations to boost their submarine industrial capability, while we sabotage our future by starving CSIRO of funds. A 'dumb present' denying our children a 'smart future'. #auspol
