Look who writes for @kotaku.com now!!

So excited to have the supremely talented @duckvalentine.bsky.social on the team.
Take THAT, every other gaming site. Not looking so hot now, are you?
Yeah, same here. Found I had no need for another open world rpg all of a sudden.
Sorry to be a show-off arse, but I'm really pleased with my work on @kotaku.com today. I'm so glad that it's a place where I can speak my mind, stand up for what I believe is right, and laugh at the dreadful.

Thank you!
I still think 15% is terrible, and I reckon that this would have been the 30 day window in which to make that bundle a LOT more appealing. $95!!!
Oh no, you're right.
You know what, if I were a news editor working at one of the biggest gaming sites in the world, I'd occasionally bother to link back to the sites from which I lift my stories almost word-for-word.
That's how it evens out when you balance the two with discounts against the three without.
This is a great collection of indie games, and I love the conceit of asking people not to read about the games before playing them, but I really don't know why you'd put your 2/4/13-year-old game in a bundle and not offer a discount.

O teaches nothing at all.
I hope you remember being taught about Mufe, iDite, Egeg, Mocri and Hodel at school. And of course not forgetting everyone's favourite, Fooif.
Very much not the alphabet.
This article on AI videos on YouTube is perhaps a bit overstating the concerns, but god I'm glad we didn't have THIS slop 10 years ago.

But still, I'm obsessed with the classroom backgrounds on one of the videos. This is from a video teaching the alphabet.
This isn't even really a debate.
YES!!!!!
I spoke to @juliansimpson.bsky.social all about the excellent podcast The Lovecraft Investigations and its latest series, Crowley. And the new Mythos. Both of which are truly fantastic - links to get them are at the end of the article.

Please join me for my GDC talk, "You Had One Minute And You Only Showed Cutscene" and a follow-up called, "Don't Start Your Store Trailer With 20 Seconds Of Studio Logos You Fucking Idiots".
I cannot let this stand. I was giddily fanboying the entire time, and could have kept chatting for hours more.
Honestly, I mostly did this so I could ask questions about Aldrich Kemp and Parker that I could never use in the article, and boast that I remembered Kokomo and Fugue State.
I would greatly appreciate it if everyone click on this story approximately 39,000 times, because I might not have quite asked my editor in chief permission to write it.

It's pretty simple to playtest games, not least with Steam's ability to invite people to join free betas. You have people play it and submit feedback. What's impossible here?
Well, yes, that would be the only rationale inference from your suggesting it needs to be played by lots of people.
Yes, but it's ON SALE right now. And it's in an absolutely atrocious state.
You can't defend a miserably uncomfortable mattress on the basis that if you sleep on it for sixth months the lumps will start to even out.
Imagine living in the timeline where this is real.
No, at least not that.
My son just referred to an album as "a playlist".
All is lost.
