I realized that Battle Brothers was my second most played game of all time, and I'd never left them a review. An early Hooded Horse hit, that really brought the low fantasy brutality.
Gonna have to listen to some Clash to celebrate
Classic
Not that Showgirls has a positive depiction of sex work, but it at least gives it's sex worker characters agency over their lives
Yeah, the whole culmination of the plot is her "rescuing" her friend from a seedy strip club, with the strong implication that that's just how all strip clubs are. Ironically Showgirls ends up being a more woke movie.
I also went into that movie expecting it to be dripping with sexuality, but it's relatively tame and sort of looks down on sex work as the worst thing that could happen to a woman. I'unno, 5/10.
Alan Rickman is transcendentally type cast in it
Not even heard of that movie till now, but it looks right up my alley, as a big fan of Bottle Shock
Hi Casey! Thanks for making Bluesky nice!
Well, just like From Dusk Til Dawn, I'd say your in for a treat so long as you ignore the creator's obvious fetishes
Wal Al at least worth hearing about?
Oh, Smilla, yes! And chili, and bacon, and green onions, and more! And he just came along and shoved his face right in when he thought he had a chance!
Yeah, he was going after our baked potatoes last night
Don't believe him, Smilla. He's gone soft since we moved to the city
This has the potential of being a mid-career Beatles song
That's real corpo, choom
I never feel more like our particular dystopia is Cyberpunk flavored than when I have to do this.
I'll just say that before I listened to Robert E. Howard's boxing stories I didn't know it was possible to be racist to Scandinavians.
My most awkward audio book listen was definitely always stuff from the 30's. They wouldn't say fuck back then, but they loved a slur!
Does anyone else remember that horrible Shyamalan movie, "After Earth?" The vehicle for the entire Smith family for some reason? Even as a stupid teenager I was so mad at what a shit movie that was.
There was this weird moment where Nosferatu got super heavily advertised and was given a Christmas release, so a main stream audience showed up, and a ton of people were super confused by a movie that didn't spoon feed them the whole plot and every answer.
A very buff Sid Meir would probably have the chutzpa to finally make a new Pirates!
Puritans discovering human joy: well þiſ iſ bullſhit
There is such a fine line, musically speaking, between music that fucking sucks and is annoying in a bad way, and music that fucking sucks and is annoying in the way that it's some of the best music you've heard in your life.
I'm gonna have to watch it. Mine is Rān, because I'm that kinda nerd.
What's your favorite movie that is objectively too long?
Glad to see Heat Signature getting some attention. If you liked it you should check out Skin Deep too.
That is some excellent aim though
How are Saddam Hussain and Saddam Hussain's best friend?
