TTRPG players use the terms “railroad” and “sandbox” when what they mean is: “poorly run game.”

ANY #TTRPG
game book can be run with total freedom and range, if the GM is good.

A skilled GM makes any game in any direction possible, while a poor GM can make the best game book ever, crud.

Sure.

But some books will help the GM and be useful for that, while others will set them up for failure and make it hard.

This is the scenario version of "the rule isn't bad because the GM can change the rule."
