I appreciate the sympathy. I got one kiddo flying the other is flagging and oof it’s rough.
But I’ll be VERY annoyed if baseball figures that out before soccer/hockey/women’s basketball.
North American sports teams (whose primary source of income is no longer ticket sales…looking at you MLS) just need to realize that in BC to have alternate revenue, you need to sell wellness/private sports healthcare.
You won’t win public funds for sports teams here.
When your almost teenage kid gets assessed and comes back with a huge heap of previously undiagnosed learning disabilities…how do you avoid the parent guilt of “how did we not know”.
Like when i discovered my kid was wearing size 5 cleats despite being a size 8 runner.
I swear I’m a good parent!
Literally in my underwear drawer with my brother’s Sealy Seal. Probably will someday be joined by my oldest kid’s Brown Bunny.
Antihistamines are miracles
Happy Monday. Let’s hope it’s a totally forgettable boring one.
I don’t think I fully understood playing divisional soccer is just a constant audition to keep your place, advance or prevent relegation.
It’s not like you get a part and get to keep it.
I was not made to be a soccer mom.
ALPHONSO DAVIES GOAL!! 💥
The CanMNT 🇨🇦 captain makes it 3-1 for Bayern Munich on their Bundesliga 🇩🇪 title clinching day 🥹

Kid went to her first concert with a friend and NO ADULT. OF COURSE it was 2 hours delayed and police were deployed for crowd control.
But THANK YOU VANCOUVER for keeping her safe. She had a great time.
Pro-tip: if you are painting your walls a shade of white, colour match to the color your patching medium dries to
the kid’s room is apparently dap DryDex spackle white
Bsky is big enough to get DDoSed!!!
I firmly believe that if you park in the bike lane then you *become* the bike lane…and we should be able to summon swarms of BMX bikers to do tricks :)

Mine was Cute Eddie Bear (Cute E bear for short)
I needed to fold laundry so I put on the Bayern v madrid game that happened today in the background. I knew the score line was crazy. But that was truly one of the most baffling games. It had everything in it.
My laundry definitely did not get folded.
May tomorrow’s idea tap you gently, not at 3AM. 💤💡
now a days all of these books would have AI generated covers ;)
I kept all these books in a cabinet my grandfather refurbished that used to house a CRT tube TV.
…I don’t know what I should fill it with next.
Boxing up my university education. I knew all of this, but got pregnant early career. Discovered with the cost of childcare and the gender pay gap, I earned more pay selling my mom skills than …this…
The industry would’ve destroyed my soul though so, I guess motherhood saved me from AI development
A waterspout just moved over Puget Sound and was visible from Seattle. It appeared to be spawned by a mesoscale convective vortex.

I need a whole new kind of education to understand this stuff as deeply as I think we are supposed to as voters.
…people commenting on Mamdani’s pied a terre tax…
Don’t tell my parents, but I’d REALLY love to see some tax scheme that taxes people who have 2200sqft for two residents taxed proportionally more than the 2 families of 4 living, in 1000sqft.
That also feels very wealth based targeted taxing.
I mean this sincerely as a question, is this fundamentally different than the vacancy tax we have here (since it’s supposed to target people who hold property but don’t live there)?
The only reason the other half of our duplex got rented out is because of that tax (and it’s way below 5mil)
Oooo good for you. Making phone call complaints costs them more money to receive than email complaints. So it doubles your impact!
I want an epic, cute, self deprecating, funny social media video campaign for our progressives this fall!!!
Mamdani it up folks!!!
I’d really REALLY love a push for a “work from home” campaign, not only to reduce the consumption of fuel and alleviate some financial pressures on families, but also give families just a bit more emotional flexibility for surviving all these pressures right now.
Ooooookay this is kind of what people were talking about. I really would like an alternate suggestion about what would’ve been a better targeted policy than just a tax pause. I want to understand this stuff, but it’s been hard to figure out economics on my own.

I’ve been looking for a sign that things are hard for everyone and it’s not just all in my head or just something my household alone is dealing with.
I took this post as confirmation that I am not alone
