The FAA administrator was pushed out, the TSA administator was fired, the Aviation Security Advisory Committee was eliminated, and the NOTAM system needs an overhaul.

Intuitively you’d think that at a certain point the cost per passenger mile would get low enough to make it viable for airlines, but the market for it is so much narrower than for lower capacity aircraft (eg A321XLR) regardless of cost that it might not be enough

The problem is that airlines deal with more technical debt than many devs could ever imagine, but if someone could sell a way to interface the legacy systems that everyone depends on with modern practises I think it could be a situation where everyone wins.
