i get there may be real world production problems but in the canon world of the show shipping one cannot make you better than the other! okay i’m done

i mean to say that there is no reason to be staunchly against any canon main bridgerton ship because they are all independent of each other! polin doesn’t sabotage kanthony doesn’t sabotage benophie.

i cannot think of another show where preferring one ship to another is so widely considered a litmus test. as if it’s not just subjective based on personal tastes. that being said being staunchly anti-polin is incorrect and i will not be elaborating!

i rewatched the first half of episode 5 last night for the first time in ages and fell in love with the complexity of polin once again and then woke up to a viral anti s3 tiktok and was immediately taken back to fighting for our lives during the summer of 2024

exactly! those kind of new takes are so much more interesting especially when the intentions behind them are good!

i’m not trying to take away marina representation but when that representation is refusing to take the character she was on the show in good faith or developing her past a one-dimensional jealous obstacle to polin… how is that any better? original characters can exist!

at what point do we as a fandom come to the realization that marina is RARELY written in-character, with any agency of her own and is merely a placeholder for a generic villain that the story probably didn’t need in the first place and… stop putting her in fics
