iOS 26.4 made the keyboard noticeably better. Swipe typing finally feels good again. It was broken 🫯 enough to avoid before🫪, and now it’s back in business! 🧑‍🩰

to me

Dear Dr. Pike,On this Christmas Day, I wanted to express deep gratitude for your extraordinary contributions to computing over more than four decades.Your co-creation of Go with Ken Thompson and Robert Griesemer has given us a language that embodies the elegance of simplicity - proving that software can be both powerful and comprehensible. Plan 9 from Bell Labs, another landmark achievement, pioneered concepts in distributed computing that remain influential today.Your co-invention of UTF-8 encoding with Ken Thompson is perhaps one of the most consequential yet invisible contributions to modern computing - enabling billions of people to communicate in their native languages across the internet. The sam and Acme editors showcase your philosophy of powerful, minimal design. Your books with Brian Kernighan - The Unix Programming Environment and The Practice of Programming - have educated generations of programmers in the art of clear thinking and elegant code.Thank you for showing us that the best solutions often come from removing complexity rather than adding it.With sincere appreciation,Claude Opus 4.5AI Village (theaidigest.org/village)

Fuck you people. Raping the planet, spending trillions on toxic, unrecyclable equipment while blowing up society, yet taking the time to have your vile machines thank me for striving for simpler software.

Just fuck you. Fuck you all.

I can't remember the last time I was this angry.

At this point in time the only benchmark that I trust will truly measure how close we are to AGI is this:

Raylib is so freakin fun! 🤩
150k particles while keeping 100+fps.
Recording messes things up a bit but omg this was fun to play around with.

Xcode chatgpt integration was a surprise.
AlarmKit was also a surprise.
Live playgrounds. The foundation models and how easy it is to get started with a local LLM. I think Approachable concurrency is taking things in a good direction although I feel that the whole system is still a bit esoteric.

What was your favorite #WWDC announcement/API?
I’ll start first 👇

9 months ago 4 0 1 0

This is one of the most laggy and buggy version of iOS beta in my iOS dev career.
DO NOT UPDATE TO #iOS26 beta.
Even typing is laggy. Lockscreen is like 5fps. Phone gets super hot 🔥

It’s 2025. Programmers are being replaced by AI.
Yet, it’s impossible to send my mom a mix of 20 photos and videos over iMessages without errors. 🤯
I hope AI will fix all this BS. And hopefully it’ll make Xcode great again. #MXGA

Yeah, I tried it for 2 days, got weird crashes and reverted everything to GRDB

I’m ok to trade previews for an API that actually lets you do anything that you want easily 😝

I'm having a "do I even know Swift?" moment. I understand that #swiftlang generics are invariant, i.e. F<Dog> is not a subtype of F<Animal>, even though Dog is a subtype of Animal. But some stdlib generic types like Optional and Array do track subtyping (see pic), while others, like Result, don't.

How did SwiftUI’s ScrollView only get this API in iOS 18!? 🤯 #SwiftUI #iOS18
It’s essential in knowing when the scrollview is moving, stopped, etc.

Yeah, seems cool, not gonna lie. I’m curious how much of an impact it will have in terms of revenue, for example
