I was 10 when "Dirty Mind" came out, so "1999" was my first true exposure to his music. You're right about "Purple Rain." It was next level. (That said, "1999" is amazing.)

On the 10th anniversary of Prince's death, just want to drop his greatest song -- or quite possibly anyone's greatest song -- here. I've mentioned this before, but this is the only song I've ever heard where I remember hearing it for the first time. A masterpiece: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUc0...

We're one more blowout away from a "What's wrong with the NBA?" column that ignores the whole history of the league, which suggests there are almost always closer to eight serious teams than 16.
All MLB teams in the style of Mr. Met.
Brewers ... woof!
Probably not actually. I did buy a Barrel Man hat, and still, nothing doing.
I made one joke about a Miz perfecto and they've lost four straight since then.

The 1982 Best Actor race was staaaaaacked: Newman in "The Verdict," O'Toole in "My Favorite Year," Lemmon in "Missing," Kinglsey in "Gandhi," and Hoffman in "Tootsie." And they should have nominated Henry Thomas in "E.T." #TCMParty
The cost of the SFX in 2001 in 2026 dollars? $60M. ($32.3M in 2001.) #TCMParty
Crazy amount of product placement in 2001. #TCMParty
4K is too crisp for 2001. But it’s still one of greatest works of art ever produced. #TCMParty
I was doing shot charts for the Bucks that season. I was like, "Who is this guy?" Never forgot his name.
Anthony Pullard. (Now, there's a pull.)
Some of the greatest six-plus minutes on film
"Hamnet" was amazing. For a while I was like, "this is pretty good," and then they went to The Globe and it hit me like a ton of bricks. My wife had to throw an arm around me. #ActorAwards
So well choreographed that it's a crime!
