As a player I’m excited for new terrain layouts. As a TO and someone that runs a gaming club I’m worried about adapting our terrain collection to suit it.

Rewatching first two seasons of Foundation before getting round to season 3 and my god I forgot how good it is.

Used my new Helsmith army for first time in a one day AoS event yesterday. Went 2-1

May not be as powerful as nurgle but I had so much more fun using them. Maybe it was just novelty, we’ll see how it feels in a month or two.

Cheeky game of Old World at the club tonight.

The thought of cable management for all that would keep me up at nights.

Two crane gun Sky Lanterns finished off this week to join the iron hail/bomb one I already have.

The revolution will not be televised. But it might be on Bluesky?

Played about 10 games with new Maggotkin book now. Found some fun in using new units and options but ultimately I still just found myself envious of other armies having mobility and agency to play the scenario. A bunch of scenarios I felt I like was chasing my own tail.

Played my first game of 3rd edition Horus Heresy last night and really enjoyed the flow of the new game. Battle looked great too, no units huddled hiding behind a flat MDF building.

Last bit of hobby for the year, built a saturnine terminator command squad. All magnetised so I can use them as standard terminators too.

2025 didn’t start great but turned out super positive. Made a bunch of lifestyle changes, lost almost 10 stone in weight (60kg) and been much more productive.

Painted 3,500pts of Old World Orcs, 2500pts of Grand Cathay and 2,500pts of Heresy White Scars.

Excited for 2026 and playing more games!

Just built a few of the nurgle models from Darkwater that I picked up on eBay.

They are lovely sculpts but best part was they were only 4 or 5 parts each and assembly was a dream. Proof that modern GW models don’t need to be a million fiddly parts.

Probably the last bit of hobby to be finished this year. Pair of shugengan lords.

New Maggotkin of Nurgle book has leaked. I was so pumped to revisit and refresh my Nurgle army in January but half way through reading the leak and the wind is well and truly out of my sails.

Been busy with terrain for the club for a while but managed to get back to painting my own stuff this week. More White Scars finished this morning and now back to some Old World to expand the Cathay.

Thank you! It’s been a lot of fun to paint and I’m really happy I’ve got the army on the table now. Hoping to make a few more additions over the Christmas holiday period.

Back to White Scars last week as a change from Cathay. Got another rhino and 10 more tacticals done along with a Land Raider and first Jet Bike unit.

Plus a Stormseer as my first Command choice.
