Welcome to Day 2 of RFK Jr. testifying on Capitol Hill.
Yesterday, RFK -- who has spent decades spreading disinformation about vaccine safety -- testified to Congress that measles outbreaks aren't his fault and said he's "never been anti-vaccine." Really. Really! www.huffpost.com/entry/rfk-me...

Support for impeaching Trump is at 55%, according to a new Strength In Numbers/ @Verasight.io poll, with 37% of adults opposed. Crucially 1 in 5 of Trump’s own voters support impeachment.

The temptation among moderate Dems will be to leave Trump alone after the midterms. Their reasoning will be that he'll a lame duck and can do no more harm. That misreads him and the politics. 1) he'll act desperately and destructively and 2) people want to see him and the rest sent to the wall.
Uh "no, actually" yourself.
I'm in Ohio, where extreme gerrymandering was pioneered the moment the GOP gained a slim upper hand 25 years ago. They now have an entrenched supermajority here & are free to do whatever they want.
There IS no "level playing field." That's not how you defeat fascists.
extremely predictable
Unlike Texas, VA maps approved by voters
Unlike Texas, VA maps temporary
Unlike Texas, VA maps only drawn in response to other states
Unlike Texas, VA maps not racial gerrymander
"Another piece of flagrant nonsense has ascended to the highest levels of US politics & media. To call it a conspiracy theory would be far too kind ... Barring any dramatic new disclosures, the mystery of the missing scientists has the dubious honor of being a sham in every way at once."

The point is that there are costs and well as benefits to throwing out the rule book. And those costs must be imposed, otherwise there are only benefits.
Is Democrats gerrymandering VA a good thing? No.
Is it a fair and effective response to a fight the Republicans started in TX and elsewhere? Yes.
For the record: The Washington Post is run by partisan hacks who think we won't remember that they took the *exact* opposite stance when it was Republicans pushing their own gerrymandering grab in Texas last year -- *without* putting it up for a vote.
Americans really made the dumbest celebrity we could find the president.
sucks that it’s come to this, but if congressional Republicans wanted to put up a national gerrymandering ban or multi member districts etc, it would pass *for sure*. until then fight fire with fire
Remember, Democrats have repeatedly advanced measures to ban partisan gerrymandering and Republicans have voted against them time after time.
This is the game Republicans wanted to play. OK, then.
Seems like NYT should have mentioned that UAE's spymaster bought 49% of Trump's World Liberty Financial and used $2B of its USD1 stablecoin, directing hundreds of millions to Trump.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

everyone with real American manliness and a basic knowledge of military history knows that serious war efforts have never been derailed by such trifling matters as "communicable diseases"
As a matter of principle, you can either have a dinner that celebrates the First Amendment or you can have a dinner that features Donald Trump. You can’t have both because the president holds the freedom of the press in contempt. www.mediamatters.org/donald-trump...
I think it’s bad that the president casually refers to a leader of the opposition as a “traitor.”
In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.
"Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial: Scientists caution that more research is needed, but nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later."
It will never stop pissing me off how much trump is going to walk away from this presidency as a “real” billionaire in a way he never was before, and it is going to be solely because of the public office
”The problems with his conduct go well beyond what has been previously known, and include both conspicuous inebriation and unexplained absences.” www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...
the president of the united states is personally looting the treasury to the tune of literally billions of dollars and that he is not being immediately removed from office and tried for high crimes against this country is a devastating indictment of every part of our political system
The key criteria for a just war include 1) just cause, 2) legitimate authority, 3) right intention, 4) last resort, 5) proportionality, and 6) probability of success. Trump's actions against Iran can be challenged on ALL SIX COUNTS.
The claim "the fact that the incumbent party was successfully defeated in an election shows that there was never anything to worry about and democracy was fine all along" in the Hungarian case— with explicit or implicit analogy to the US— is maddening to begin with, bc it's a well-known fact

The DOJ posting this signals that erasing the Establishment Clause as a functional doctrine is now an official communication priority.
Turned on NBC. They talked about “President tipping a DoorDash driver $100”.
This woman participated in GOP ads before playing other roles. There is no DoorDash deliveries to the Oval Office. Please exercise proper judgement when consuming news.
The massive Orban defeat should prompt Dems to align themselves more firmly with anti-fascist and pro-democracy forces abroad. There's a powerful link to be drawn between the celebrations in Budapest and the confrontations with ICE in Minneapolis. 1/

A huge loss, a bad sign. Plus the elimination of Hampshire College means an end to one of the best things about Hampshire: getting to take classes there on UMass tuition. (I did, all the sweeter for having been accepted to but not being able to afford Hampshire.) RIP “the Five Colleges.”
Devastating: Hampshire College is permanently closing following the Fall 2026 Semester. A beautiful institution & community that has done so much for so many. My child is a current Hampshire senior. Hampshire's approach to education is so unique, humane, & exciting—I've seen it first hand. Tragic
