I never miss

Fuck. I was doing good, for a long while. I didn't feel like dying every day.

I hate how people just don't fucking care how awful they can be to others. It's all about them. Always. Either get on your knees or you're in the way.

I need to stop giving my life away to people who do not care. Who will kick me when I'm down just because they can.

This isn't a world of people capable of empathy. It's a world of mostly self-centered assholes. I can't just talk them into understanding. It won't ever work.

That's exactly why they should! Force them to slow down!

With Daisy now set up, the next film has to find a way to have her bond with Luigi. What better way than to have Mario be mostly absent?

Cut the cast down drastically, make it sorta spooky. You can even keep Bowser in his bones form for it.

My biggest issue with these movies is pacing, anyways.

I hope more shows portray solutions more nuanced and complicated than being able to punch the problem away.

And again, I personally believe sometimes that is necessary, too.

But villifying the notion of peaceful resolutions is concerning. Deeply.

Between these examples of SU and HH, the discourse is always this; peace is wrong.

If a solution that could be a net positive is possible, but it requires a bad person to not be killed or tortured, then it is actually a horrible solution.

You should want blood. In fact, you NEED to.

But again, the perspective of these arguments comes from the belief that an eye for an eye is the only way forward.

Valentino must suffer for all of eternity, or else the show is immoral.

If he did genuinely start doing good, for good reasons, it should be stopped and he should be burning.

These actions cannot be undone. The harm cannot be evened out, or overcome.

However, individually, people are able to stop committing these acts. They're capable of changing, and attempting to do better for the world around them.

This is not the same as forgiveness being earned.

I think the term "redemption" isn't the best for what the show is trying to do.

It implies actions this extreme from the past, and others like murder, can be fixed.

This, however, is not the message I feel the show is trying to get across.

A better term would be "atonement."

One character used in these arguments is the pimp character, Valentino.

He is a rapist. The argument goes that this is too great a sin for redemption to be possible.

I believe they're only half right.
