I've been fighting this battle (and losing badly) on some of my political Facebook groups. People don't seem to understand that unsourced news is the problem, not the solution.
Because the Trump machine has perfected the idea of the firehose of outrage and corruption. There are 3 or 4 "bronco chase" level events every day. The media just can't keep up and the public's attention is quickly overwhelmed. Our only hope is to get one of the chambers of Congress back next year.

I think Pence is still clinging to the hope that in the 2030s, after the Trump stench has started to fade a bit, that he may emerge as a candidate and leader in the GOP. That hope died with T's reelection. The "classic" GOP is no more.
