We've uncovered what might be the biggest case of petition fraud in NYC's history, and now I'm taking my opponent to court.
So let’s have universal health care and help people live in dignity.
What was Trump focused on today? Building a giant triumphal arch in DC then jetting out of town for a high dollar fundraiser and golf.
For sure, sad to say. Tho I'd also say the right wing aims to roll back what scattered progress has been made since the '50s...
I'm abt same age + educ (but pub health masters) -- and for me, the lack of social supports surely played a role in not having kids (tho our med. issues were really key).
Israeli aircraft reportedly sprayed glyphosate over border farmlands in southern Lebanon & Syria’s Quneitra in Jan–Feb ‘26. Lebanese tests & UNIFIL samples found concentrations 20–30x above normal, killing crops. Israel said it is to deny militants cover. UN warned of humanitarian/environmental harm
Agreed.
Also re "doing great things" I was thinking about how the US was able to slash child poverty rates sharply for ~2 years recently.
(That gain was undone when the powers in DC decided to end the higher child tax credit.)
To encourage younger marriages and higher birthrates, the Heritage Foundation wants to deter women from the workforce and college, incl. by reducing financial aid for college, and emphasizing a view of college as a place to find a spouse (vs a place for education)!
* Medicaid >homecare< numbers
For multiple reasons, the Heritage Foundation "explicitly aims to remove women from the workforce and decrease their educational opportunities."
sojo.net/articles/opi... (Besides boosting birthrates, such policies fit with their goal of making wives more dependent on men, etc.)
Sure, that's a reasonable take.
I tuned in late, but guessed it was his voice/ trite comment that bugged me: "It shows we can still do big things." To me, "big things" that matter far more are like a few yrs ago when the US sharply cut child poverty for ~2yrs. Then the fed. gov't decided it didn't care + cut the child tax credit.
And the wee problem with Trump’s plan to collect passage tolls in partnership with Iran is that it violates international laws against piracy.

The mainstream media has failed this country. Every day when reporting the news should be taken as an opportunity to educate the American public with comparative context as well as inform them.
We in NYC are so blessed to have @jfrejnyc.bsky.social. May every city, town, village, and hamlet get to experience the community and interventions of a JFREJ-like organization.
📣 Every no-speech proposal under consideration in Albany will curtail the right to protest and speak freely in public.
As the Trump admin continues to target, arrest, and even murder ordinary citizens for peaceful protest, state lawmakers must stand up for NY and defend the First Amendment.

On Passover, we tell the story of the exodus out of mitzrayim, out of captivity, and into a liberated future. Tonight, we write a version of that story for ourselves in NY with our call to pass #NY4All and end all kidnappings & deportations.

Jewish New Yorkers have taken over the lobby of Palantir on the 6th night of Passover to protest corporate complicity in ICE’s deportation machine. NYC Jews demand #SanctuaryNotSurveillance!
Thx for chasing it down!
BIG microwave ovens existed in "50s but home use ones were 1st widely marketed in US in late "60s & UK late '70s or later (says google).
As a kid at 1964-5 NYC World's Fair, I saw promotion of a so-called "radar range"
(I think in a "future" kitchen in GE's pavilion). #MidwifePBS #CalltheMidwife
Petula Clark was my first thought, of course, but then I wondered -- did the Turner kids at some point have a pet named Petula?
#MidwifePBS #CallTheMidwife
Ouch!!! I hope it was a good distraction.
Sad... It will be missed in '27!
Or a microwave???
