Redacted teams conversation with three suggested responses but no response from the other person that should prompt them.
Really enjoying the new productivity gains in Microsoft Teams where you can now reply to yourself with handy suggestions @kevlin.bsky.social #Perfect #Great #ThankYou
It’s been a long time since I opened the GoF book so I’m going completely from imperfect memory
Chain of command? IIRC Each handler decides if it wants to execute or passes the message on?
In software development, the limits of team size are the limits of effective coordination - whether it's a team of humans or AI agents.
Don't act surprised. We've known this for more than 50 years.

How the number came to be known to show up on her phone is a mystery though
Sorry I meant that the person calling was the intended target of the scam, not your mum. Someone with a male voice impersonating dad like “Hello we met the other day and I now need £1000”; social engineering with a valid number to back it up?
…in the hope of being more believable than the usual call from BT or Microsoft?
Likely a somewhat insensitive scammer. IIRC call data is easy to fake, like email addresses. I have had many scam calls from my home town which turned out to be from call centres outside the uk. Could it have been a scammer putting together voter registration data and address/phone numbers…?
The Jetsons lied to us
In honor of Mr. Rogers’ birthday, here’s your regularly scheduled reminder that the quote of his you keep sharing, that in times of crisis we should look for the helpers, was for his audience of children.
We’re adults now. We’re supposed to *be* the helpers.

Might come in handy one day?
The answer to problems in sociotechnical systems is not always "more software", "better software" or "open source software".
A lot of the time the best solution is _less software_ and sometimes even _no software_.
🚨 It looks like the UK government is gearing up to upend copyright law in favour of AI companies, legalising the theft of their work.
This is despite creatives' huge protests, and despite previous proposals being roundly rejected by the public.
Please spread the word.

We had a demonstration of an awesome “build a bank account class” agent. When no one was impressed, I suggested Gilded Rose… it found standard unit tests but didn’t make any more progress beyond that.
Is it that getting everything out of your head into a million projects and tasks feels like you are asked to do a little of everything. “Ordinary” folk think of one important project at a time - or think they do
Paul Lukas has outdone himself today, and I've been reading him since 1994. No piece could be more Lukasian. There's no paywall on it and it's just delightful.

Inlay card for the audio tape for Wind in the willows
@misterabk.bsky.social reminded of the audiobook of Wind in the Willows read by Kenneth Williams. Two audio tapes and so much more cosy and with less Pan
People talk about this stuff in terms of how much it'll suck for gaming and I hate to inform you how many MRI machines, X-Rays, all sorts of other vital machinery are just a Windows IoT Edition PC in a beige plastic box with a big magnet/accelerator/whatever attached.
Come on, it’s half an hour of the worst thing you/I’ve ever heard
