Changing Lanes, a new film by Brooklyn-based cinematographer Ben Wolf premiered this past weekend at the Architectural & Design Film Festival. It does an amazing job of situating the recent struggle over the McGuinness Blvd *road diet* in Greenpoint within the history of making cities car dependent

Assemblymember Emily Gallagher @emilyassembly.bsky.social has been fighting to make McGuinness safe for years. She told a story about wanting to fix this street ever since she lived right at this very corner.

In 2021, PS110 teacher Matthew Jensen was killed in a hit-and-run on McGuinness Blvd, the site of countless injuries and deaths.

Led by @emilyassembly.bsky.social + Make Mcguinness Safe, Greenpointers thought they had won a street redesign — until Adams admin corruption halted work.

We know what we have to do to save our city from Andrew Cuomo.

Jessica Ramos is a great ally and leader on environmental, immigrant rights and labor reform. She is a true warrior of the working class. 10/

Zellnor Myrie is an accomplished lawyer and legislator who has passed some of the greatest criminal justice reforms in recent memory. Zellnor is a joy to work with and would bring integrity and a thoughtful work ethic to City Hall. 9/

Adrienne Adams has highly relevant experience as the Speaker of City Council, and she has been able to build and hold together a broad coalition to accomplish important wins for NYC, withstanding citywide scrutiny and pressure to deliver the goods. 8/

After Zohran and Brad, I’m endorsing 3 other candidates for the rest of my slate. In no particular order, they are below. 7/

Brad Lander is an experienced and accomplished politician. He is a thoughtful, detail-oriented lawmaker with citywide management experience. He's been a mentor to me and for many years has always treated my office with incredible respect and support. 6/

Zohran Mamdani is a visionary leader. He knows that a Democratic Socialist future will best deliver stability, quality of life, and a more functional city for all. He is a hard worker with the courage and charisma to push for a more equitable society. 5/

With all of that in mind, I am endorsing two people for my top endorsement — Zohran Mamdani and Brad Lander. I know both well, and both would make for strong mayors. 4/

In my personal capacity, I am going a step further and endorsing a full slate. I believe each of these people would bring a fantastic change to city hall.

In this crucial election, when the stakes are so high, people should rank 5 candidates — just not Andrew Cuomo. 3/

Coming together as a coalition of elected officials has been an important shift for NBK — we support one another and work together on initiatives that are good for our community.
