i was just wondering if there was any reason, aesthetic or otherwise, after i've always tried to be open and clear that i dont require borders. so thank you for clarifying!

whats funny is that i used to do that for people who tended to post a lot of blurry borders to try and let them know that its ok to post 3:4 format instead. but they just put frames on those too! so i stopped. XD

the worst is when i go to a clients page and every other image they post has no frames, and only MINE is blurry and crunched! why are people doing this to me??? i literally put it in writing that no one needs to do this to me! lmao.

this is all to say that it pains me to see cosplayers crunching their own image quality when instagram already does that for us, and i wish there was a way to be any more clear to my clients that they do not need to be doing this.

thats exactly how i hope everyone would do it! whenever someone invites me to collab on a post thats just a blurry frame as the first in the slide, i hide it immediately. i love a cohesive portfolio and that just isnt smart when instagram is already crunching quality.

right. and also, if we're treating instagram as a portfolio, and you post two images (one with border and one that fits teh frame), why do people put the framed one as the first photo? i just want my clients to look good in the pics we made!

that might be part of it, but i think everyone just got into the habit of using the blurry frames. and theres no one consistent app that everyone uses, so its just a freeforall.

yes, those frames. they hurt my eyes, and they hurt the photo by making them look even smaller. i've had explicit language in my contract for years saying that cropping images for social media is allowed, but it never seems to make a difference, so i just assume cosplayers just like the frames.

genuine question for cosplayers who post on instagram: why do you post your photos with those blurry, distorted frames around it?

while i understand that instagram crops the image, its my opinion that a cropped image is better than those distracting and resolution-crunching frames.

do you have a guide you used or video you followed? i tried a jailbreak of mine a few times, but it didnt really work out.
