The Roberts Court loves corporations. Corporations are their benefactor more so than Trump. Corporations were not happy with the tariffs. SCOTUS rules against Trump when it's Corporations v. Trump. End of.

Don't let this fool you into thinking this court as any goddamn legitimacy. It does not.

Remember: Tariffs aren't paid by other countries.

They're eventually paid by us at the check out line.

It's up to us to make sure Trump and MAGA Republicans pay for them during the midterms, too.

I’m off this week so I haven’t read the tariffs decision yet, but I keep trying to tell people John Roberts is like Big Worm in Friday: “Playing with my money is like playing with my emotions.”

Two issues I'm pondering. One is that you can't move this many people without inflicting tremendous physical and psychological harm on those deported and on society itself. The second is that left in place for years, mass detention on a whole new level will be normalized. It rarely vanishes. [1/3]

this crystallizes why, despite truly heroic solidarity and activism, i can’t quite get in the “we’re going to win” mindset right now. the harm is so active and there’s so much violence we don’t even know about. people are being turned into ghosts.

I was in KY too. IN has open primaries, so it's a lot easier, but the GOP here is extra corrupt, so it doesn't benefit Dems much.

I understand people leaving the party on principal, but if you live in a closed primary state, party membership is the only way to have a say. Corporate Dems just cannot stop shooting themselves in the foot.

IS THE TEA PARTY COMING? | Gin and Tacos Get more from Gin and Tacos on Patreon

Is this *it*? Is voter dissatisfaction so rampant that a cleansing wave of primary voters demanding change is coming to wash away the dross?

Maybe. But it's very far from a certainty. It depends on a critical mass of voters who've accepted excuses for decades refusing to accept excuses anymore.

@democrats.senate.gov What in God's name was the point of the shutdown if a few corporate sell outs are just going to cave without getting anything from the GOP?

Y'all better get ready to primary those senators. Winning last week was SUPPORT for your actions and now you betrayed your base.

Have you ever seen the episodes where Lucy pulls the football away while Charlie Brown is going to kick it and he falls on his face? You're Charlie Brown. Johnson will never allow a vote on those subsidies, you sell out. This better be your last term.

Is she new? Has she not seen this bullshit before? She's old enough to be my grandma probably, but she really thinks they're going to vote on subsidies later?

Here's a fundraising email I received for some reason.

Turning Point is really embracing the civil, non-incendiary discourse we were told Charlie Kirk championed.*

(*He didn't really champion those things, and I'm sure he would have been fine with this email.)

It is wild to me that guys like him start businesses that fail and then somehow, they're geniuses and people keep giving them billions for more business ideas that are ultimately going to fail, but by God, let's give them a little more just in case they're not lying about their product this time.

Yeah, it is. We have the weakest possible opposition leadership. It shouldn't have gotten to a second term at all and it wouldn't have if Dems had a collective spine between them.

He's the minority leader. It's his job to lead his party in the senate. He didn't, clearly. If he can't keep them in line, he needs to step aside. Let someone with a backbone do it.

Resign, you spineless coward. What was the point of holding out for a month to just cave in and get nothing for it?! Are you really this weak? Damn, son. We won last week and you're hellbent on making sure you never win again. Your political instincts are a joke, you sell-out.
