I think not enough people understand that the pushback against renewables and EV's is money.
Without getting too in the weeds: renewables cannot ever be as profitable as oil and gas.
EV's don't make as much money as gas guzzlers.
That's it. That's all you really need to know.

Do We Need Miracle Technologies to Save the Planet?
No. The solution is to electrify most all energy, use direct heat for the rest, and obtain the electricity+heat from wind, water & solar while using less energy

“it’s a “bad idea all around” — economics, human health and emissions — to spend $900 million refurbishing Saskatchewan’s coal plants.”

Venn diagram with three overlapping circles. Left circle: “I Want Stable Services” (blue). Right circle: “I Want Low Density” (green). Bottom circle: “I Want Low Taxes” (red). Where the circles overlap: Stable Services + Low Density = “High Taxes.” Stable Services + Low Taxes = “More Density.” Low Density + Low Taxes = “Service Cuts.” The center overlap of all three says: “DOES NOT EXIST” in bold white text.
It once again gives me great pleasure to drop this immutable fact of city-building. We build our cities the most expensive way possible. #yyc #yyccc #Sprawl #UrbanSprawl #Density
This is an important objective in our national interest!
Our premier causing Moe sMoek. Moe sMoek, Moe problems!
This is an incredibly big deal. A jurisdiction attempting to resuscitate coal against federal law, international norms, and climate imperatives must be stopped.

It is shameful that Saskatchewan plans to extend coal to 2050, when it has the best solar and wind resources in Canada. If every other OECD country has this figured out, and if AB has done it, why can’t we?
Grateful for the Citizens for Public Justice and the Saskatchewan Environmental Society for challenging the Saskatchewan government’s decision to extend coal fired generation to 2050. cpj.ca/no-more-coal
Energy transition underway.
This needs to be watched by all.
A horizontal bar chart titled "Percentage of Global fossil fuel emissions (since 1751) occurring in my lifetime." The chart shows how much of the total historical global fossil fuel emissions have occurred within the lifetime of individuals of different ages, from 5 to 100 years old. The vertical axis on the left lists ages in increments of 5 years, from age 5 at the top to age 100 at the bottom. The horizontal axis represents the percentage of fossil fuel emissions, marked in 10% increments from 10% to 90%. The black bars represent the proportion of fossil fuel emissions that have occurred during each age group's lifetime. The bars increase in length as the age increases, meaning older individuals have lived through a larger percentage of the cumulative emissions since 1751. Three specific age groups are highlighted with red bars and white text annotations: Age 30: "if you are 30 it is more than 50%" Age 50: "if you are 50 it is about 75%" Age 85: "if you are 85 it is about 90%" The source of the data is cited at the bottom: "CDIAC and globalcarbonproject.org." The graphic is credited to "@neilrkaye."
If you think climate change has gotten worse during your lifetime, you're right and there's a good reason.
If you're Gen X like me, more than 3/4 of fossil fuel CO₂ emissions have occurred in your lifetime. Even if you're a Millennial, it's at least half.

My father, Hazen Argue, was the last national leader of the CCF (the precursor to the NDP). If he was alive today he would say to Saskatchewan and Canadian CCF/NDP supporters to vote Liberal in this election. Why-because it supports our sovereign future and progressive aspirations. #cdnpoli #skpoli
So glad that @surj.bsky.social found this article and amplified it. We are at a critical inflection point. We need to advocate for the world we want: making the world a better place.

A man charging towards a windmill on his oil powered metal horse.
The war on wind and solar is fuelled by right-wing misinformation and fossil interests.
But renewables keep breaking records, outpacing targets and proving they are viable.
Imagine how much further and faster we could go if political leaders put their full weight behind them!
We are seeing shifts in Saskatchewan I haven’t seen in two decades. I don’t think anyone can predict where things will go in the next 30 days.
Thanks for the interview and opportunity to talk about the environment here in Sask.
This. Is. Very. Good.
Remember when conventional wisdom declared Roe v Wade would never be overturned?
Remember that when the Department of Education is starved to death.
Remember that when Social Security is gutted and our elders and disabled starve to death.
There is no excuse anymore for having a lack of imagination.
5 min charging. Wow.

- 2.8% PHEV
- 31.1% ICE
