The US immigrant population generated more in taxes than they received in benefits from all levels of government every year from 1994 to 2023.

The Cato study provides the first-ever 30-year analysis of the fiscal effects of immigration on government budgets.

This line graph illustrates the percentage change in agency staff levels from the previous year for nine major U.S. federal scientific and health organizations between the fiscal years 2016 and 2025. The agencies tracked include the CDC, Department of Energy, EPA, FDA, NASA, NIH, NIST, NOAA, and NSF. For the majority of the timeline between 2016 and 2023, the agencies show relatively stable fluctuations, generally staying within a range of +5% to -5% change per year. However, there is a dramatic and uniform plummet starting in the 2024–25 period. Every agency depicted shows a sharp downward trajectory, with staffing losses ranging from approximately -15% to over -25%. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shows the most significant decline, dropping to roughly -26%, while the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) shows the least severe but still substantial drop at approximately -15%.

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine scene. Captain Sisko sits in quarters (bedroom, not spare change) on a couch behind a coffee table. There's some psychedelic blue and purple pillows on the couch, in an otherwise very dimly lit room. He's holding his hands up as if he's animatedly speaking and has the look of a man listening to smooth jazz and reeeaaallly vibing. Closed caption reads, "Computer, what day is it?"

It’s so cool that every website is just Like This now. We used to send guys to the chair for putting pop-up ads on their sites. Now if I want to read something I have to read single lines between autoplaying video ads that use so much RAM they force the browser to reload every 5 seconds.

I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time.

Every day my phone buzzes. It is a neighborhood group: four people were kidnapped at the corner drugstore. A friend a mile away sends a Slack message: she was at the scene when masked men assaulted and abducted two people on the street. A plumber working on my pipes is distraught, and I find out that two of his employees were kidnapped that morning. A week later it happens again.

An email arrives. Agents with guns have chased a teacher into the school where she works. They did not have a warrant. They dragged her away, ignoring her and her colleagues’ pleas to show proof of her documentation. That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next.

Understand what it is to pray in Chicago.

The Secret Behind High Gas Prices
The Secret Behind High Gas Prices Robert Reich

Trump has hired over 100 fossil fuel insiders to staff his administration and advance the industry's agenda.

Is it any wonder why his Big Ugly Bill contains more than $40B in new subsidies and tax breaks for Big Oil?

Pentagon demands journalists pledge to not obtain unauthorized material Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is imposing strict new rules that would severely limit the ability of journalists to report on the Pentagon.

NEW: The Pentagon told journalists it will require them to pledge they won’t gather any information — even unclassified — that hasn’t been expressly authorized for release, and will revoke the press credentials of those who do not obey. @washingtonpost.com

Elon Musk Torpedoed a Beloved Pediatric Cancer Bill. It’s Yet to Recover. Sometimes, a good piece of legislation fails to become a law for one simple, stupid reason: congressional inertia.

"These are not the descriptions of a normal, well-adjusted 50-year-old man. They are the descriptions of a sociopath. A predator. His friends—including Donald Trump—did not treat this fact as a foible."

Pritzker: "Any rational person who has spent even the most minimal amount of time studying human history has to ask themselves one important question: once they get the citizens of this nation comfortable with the current atrocities committed under the color of law, what comes next?"

Over the long weekend, the Trump administration quietly tried to deport 76 unaccompanied children to Guatemala – ignoring laws protecting such minors from speedy deportations.

Thankfully, a federal judge blocked the effort.

The cruelty of this regime knows no bounds.

Pediatric Brain Cancer Group to Lose Federal Funding

The US Administration has decided to destroy a top network for clinical trials to test new treatments for children with brain cancer.

This is another atrocity that will harm Conservative and Liberal Americans, long after the politicians responsible are gone.

DOGE wasn’t a cost-cutting venture. It was a data mining operation for private interests. Trump opened the gates to the castle from inside for invaders with bad and greedy intent to plunder and exploit.

Trump and RFK Jr. to Ban Covid-19 Vaccine ‘Within Months’ A close associate of the HHS secretary claims the U.S. government will soon pull COVID-19 mRNA jabs from the market.

The Trump administration will move to pull the COVID vaccine off the U.S. market “within months,” one of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s closest associates, Dr. Aseem Malhotra, has told the Daily Beast. (Something he is pushing for, they are yet to get Trump to agree.)

A.I. is popular because it gives you the experience of being a boss: you get to give annoyingly specific instructions about how to do something you don't actually know how to do yourself, and then claim credit for the end result.
