A senior law enforcement official said the situation fit the description of an active shooter.
That meant officers should have gone into the Hortman home to confront Vance Boelter and not waited to deploy drones.
Newly released records on the police response to the assassination of Melissa Hortman show officers knew a woman was lying motionless on the top of the stairs inside the Hortman home but waited 30 minutes to physically check on her.
This strategy—using fake AI profiles to boost political causes—was tested during the 2022 recalls in San Francisco.

🏀 REPORT | Knicks owner James Dolan has built what WIRED calls a personal “deep state” across his venues – Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, and the Sphere in Las Vegas – using facial recognition, internal watchlists, and a security apparatus likened to a private intelligence agency. Surveillance reportedly extended beyond venue walls, with staff monitoring nearby neighborhoods and events. Databases allegedly included not just security threats, but people critical of Dolan on social media, lawyers suing MSG, and people loosely connected to them. An internal lawsuit and employee accounts describe real-time tracking across venues, in some cases down to the second. The most detailed case: “Nina Richards” (alias), a trans woman and regular Knicks fan, was allegedly monitored for two years. An internal report tracked routine movements - ordering drinks, interacting with staff, using the restroom. Security chief John Eversole allegedly ordered the surveillance and, according to accounts, referred to her as “him or it,” claiming her courtside presence could “damage MSG’s reputation.”

Haaretz cited senior IDF commanders describing an ongoing plan to raze Lebanese border villages several miles inland in an operation referred to internally as “Silver Plow.” 🔸 The Israeli army claimed its Paratroopers Brigade killed fighters in the Bint Jbeil area and that Golani Brigade forces killed others near the Litani, saying both groups “violated ceasefire agreements” and posed an “immediate threat.” No independent evidence was provided. The IDF said its 98th and 36th Divisions are continuing operations “in order to prevent an imminent threat against Israel’s northern communities.” 🎥 The Israeli army sets fire to the homes of residents in villages in southern Lebanon. ws ⚡️New: Spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei: “We have no plans for a next round of negotiations.” 🔹 The United States, by adopting contradictory behaviors and continuously violating the terms of the ceasefire, has shown that it is not serious about pursuing the diplomatic process. 🔹 Recent actions by Washington, including breaches of agreements in Lebanon and attempts to impose a naval blockade on Iran that led to the attack on our country's commercial ship, are clear examples of "aggressive acts" according to United Nations resolutions. 🔹 This obvious contradiction between words and actions intensifies the Iranian nation's distrust of America's intentions; therefore, Iran, prioritizing national interests and benefits, will make an appropriate decision regarding the continuation of the negotiation process.
