for anyone interested the baseline plot of OC & Stiggs is...
OC is the caregiver for his grandpa, whose disability insurance has been canceled by Schwab Insurance.
OC & Stiggs are trying to get money to take care of grandpa, while harassing the Schwabs as revenge.
side note, I have a theory that the 90s Swing Revival was in part due to Gen X having been told by Silent/Boomer Parents that old music was bad only to hear it in Jazz band and find it fun..
neither.... I'm from Michigan
I hear that JBB's... Sundown on Venus is slated for reissue soon...
the new album d'n'c .. Crushing Flowers is worth giving a listen... and the 3 albums of Kevn Kinny covers that came out recently are all great...
Sandahl Bergman in Conan
Sandahl Bergman in All that Jazz
reminder that the female lead opposite Arnie in Conan was a dancer ...
This might be my fave album of 1988... and it's another that was basically DOA & never reached most listeners ears.. dig Charles Darwin's Dream, the original album title/ single but there was concern that people would think it was an REM ripoff, and got changed.

pretty much the only Joe Wood album after Revenge that I find worth a listen is the Live record, which has enough distortion/grit & energy to filter out the over production on last of studio records... it is telling that not soon after the original line up reformed the Joe Wood era faded away.
Drivin n Cryin Whisper Tames the Lion
King's X - Out of the Silent Planet
Queensrych Operation:Mindcrime
from 1988... 3 albums from bands that I contend influenced the musical landscape moving towards Grunge/Alt Rock over the next couple of years...
yes... however there needs to be a big asterisk next to the TSOL 'metal years' in that Joe Wood so fully seems to have been in control of that era that it is almost like the OG TSOL Guitarist and Bassist were recruited into a whole new band with the same name..
No tours for me either... that said I grew up in Ann Arbor, where the U of M, EMU & Concordia were always in the background of my life and I felt like I knew what various types/sizes Colleges/Unis were like from being around them.
yep.. I can't find an exact time line but it Jane's Addiction – Nothing's Shocking appears to be the other 1988 released record he is credited with producing...
maybe the most interesting album of 1988 that very few heard... is it Pop Metal? Hard Rock? Proto Alt Rock? was it sexism that tanked it? was it Major Label staff turn over?
points if you can point to the ties this album has to Pearl Jam & Janes Addiction.

people talk about G.I. Joe: ARAH #21 for good reason.. however, most people forget that G.I. Joe: ARAH #22 has a several page silent story as well... it is well worth digging out.
to be clear a lot of Gen Y also watched it..
This was on MTV back at the end of the 90s.... and a lot of Gen X watched it..
