Lachlan Keller walks me through the White House insider trading scandals (plural!) on Polymarket. Hate everything about this tbh.

We are losing the sacred texts
This piece isn't a defense of his worldview. But we've now got a clear pattern of older, experienced broadcast journalists trying to make a 20-year-old man look dumb on camera for the sake of going viral. It's working!
Doesn't tell us much about the digital nihilism Clavicular represents tho.
"The clips chosen by media outlets are rarely about the political shift we're told is the reason for interviewing Clavicular. Instead they document a swift kick, in the hopes we're entertained by the milk that leaks out."
The more you know about Clav, the sadder this whole thing is.
Of the many, many, MANY things wrong with this, what stands out most to me is that none of the Google Gemini features are in any way helpful and I can't see how they would help improve a journalist's productivity? Even for admin it's not very useful. Classic example of forcing the use case.
Hannah Ferguson: “In order for new media to thrive, we need to escape, not replicate, the problems of legacy media. We need access to be equal and transparent ... We don’t want a selective process that favours the agreeable.”

I reported on the "Expressions of Interest" form the government sent to a select group of content creators inviting them to "pitch" for access to budget lock up this year. After people like Hannah Ferguson of Cheek pushed back, they made changes.

Sky News TRAITORS criticising true blue Aussies for exercising their god given right to have a crispy, ice cold pint!
Simply UN-Australian and an affront to REAL AUSSIE VALUES for the so-called elite Sky News presenters to attempt to CANCEL the working class tradition of going to the PUB 🍻
A quote by Rick Owens. It reads: "Working out is modern couture. No outfit is going to make you look or feel as good as having a fit body. Buy less clothing and go to the gym instead."
The proliferation of this quote is so interesting to me. It's often posted by right wing chuds who use it to defend conventional aesthetic ideas — such as the importance of having a lean, athletic body — but they don't really understand Owens's work.
Let's talk about it. 🧵
www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTJT... I never fail to be staggered by every part of this saga, and there is no better guide through it than @squigglyrick.bsky.social . Great interview by @crystaljane.bsky.social
NOMINATION INCOMING!!!
Pod up! @squigglyrick.bsky.social talks about how covering robodebt radicalised him. Following the robodebt story absolutely did the same for me, I think for many around my age it will be a foundational political memory.

"For the record, I don’t think Albanese is a bumbling misogynist. I think he’s a savvy political operator keen to appease Washington and Tel Aviv. It’s a badge of honour to weigh on his conscience." Let it absolutely fucking rip Grace! #auspol

Gender, racial and politicial oppression is only ok when we and my pals do it 😎
We're lucky this guy (and the other tech right guys) say this out loud and plain.
Many experts (and the left broadly) have been explaining exactly this for years, and how damaging it is, but are constantly told it's a "reach" or putting words in their mouth.
Unfort too many still won't listen.
Very timely convo with Jo Tarnawsky about the ways that power protects itself in our political system: "You don’t need to become the system, but you certainly need to know the waters that you’re wading in to be able to get any traction."
