Being incarcerated shouldn’t mean our medical information could be subject to the ears of guards and others.
Who could have seen it coming?
Omg thank you!

There’s a strong revival of Andrea Dworkin-style anti-porn, anti-sex, anti sex work thinking among Zoomers that appears to buy into the fundamental arguments of Puritanism while claiming that people commenting on this phenomenon want to prey on teenage girls.
Sorry, I could've explained that better
The people who last week swore thst sex workers can't consent are telling me this week that after learning about the rape academy story that all women always have a right to give or revoke consent.
Its a weird level of cognitive dissonance.
About to do the guy sweating deciding on the button meme
All women have a right to give or deny consent, every time
Sex workers, who are mostly women can't consent, ever
Ohio is doing the censorship bait-and-switch.
First, they propose a law criminalizing "adult cabaret" (sexual) performances in public spaces.
Then, redefine "adult" to include a person not dressed as their "biological sex."
HB249 is a legislative weapon targeting public transness.
Let's do something different.
Y'all pick a topic for a thread.
What would you like to see? Do you have questions about sex workers rights?
A gift-box wrapping stall in a store. Uncle Sam is holding a box labelled "control of internet speech". The staff (labelled as "Corporate Media") asks "How would you like this wrapped?" There are 2 rolls of wrapping paper behind them, "anti-terrorism" and "protect kids"

"All 26 states that enacted porn age-verification laws as of 2026 voted Republican in the 2024 presidential election, indicating a strong geographic overlap with red states. While I do hold that this doesn’t suggest strong ideological clustering, it shows a strong partisan alignment."
BREAKING: Louisiana has advanced one of the cruelest anti-homeless bills in the country. It would force homeless people to choose between jail and involuntary treatment, make them pay for it, and if they can't pay, force them to perform unpaid labor. buff.ly/d6rXj5h
Making sure people can access basic necessities and get their paperwork together is essential to preventing recidivism.
It's also essential to community growth.
So weary.
1. In a landmark ruling, the Montana Supreme Court has declared that the constitution, one of the most progressive in the nation, entirely protects transgender people.
The ruling is even insulated from SCOTUS decisions, due to how state constitutions work.

At the end of the day, the issue isn't that those men didn't have access to someone willing to consent.
The issue is these men didn't want to be with someone that could consent.
First- nobody deserves to be stuck with a sexual predator. And that includes sex workers.
Second- the presence of sex workers doesn't solve the problem because these people do not want consensual encounters.
They want the non consent part.
That's what we need to grapple with.
*takes a deep breath*
I hope one lesson people learn from #RapeAcademy situation is that access to consensual sex doesn't matter to a rapist because they WANT the nonconsent part.
So please stop suggesting these predators should just go see sex workers as some sort of solution to rape.
Ultimately, a lot of resistance to sex work comes down to that some people think sandwiches are gross, therefore they must be bad, thus they must be banned. They will *always* jump over step one when pressed

FAQ FRDAY What exactly is peer education and why is it so important to sex workers? I LEARNED MORE ABOUT CONSENT IN A BROTHEL THAN ANYWHERE ELSE...
Peer education is a foundational aspect of sex worker rights. Sex worker peer education means outreach, health promotion, resources, support and information designed and delivered by sex workers, for sex workers. It values lived experience and recognises that sex workers are the best people to share relevant, practical and trusted information with our own communities.
Evidence supports peer education. Peer education is a proven HIV prevention strategy and has been central to achieving very low HIV and STI rates among sex workers in Australia. It encompasses everything from safety information, client negotiation strategies to navigating workplace rights. It is done via outreach, workshops, community events, online and print resources, and one-on-one peer support. Research shows these models reach communities that mainstream models don’t. IMPROVED SAFER SEX PRACTICES Research shows that peer education increases access to healthcare and STI testing, improves safer sex practices, and reduces stigma and isolation.
INFORMAL AND NOT INTIMIDATING Settings where peer education takes place are mostly informal, removing the power dynamics associated with mainstream healthcare. COMMUNITY BUILDING Peer education strengthens networks and solidarity rather than just simply transferring information. NON-JUDGEMENTAL SUPPORT Peer education is grounded in harm reduction and sex worker autonomy. It is non-judgemental and doesn’t push sex workers to exit the industry.
We keep us safe! Peer education is the backbone of the sex worker rights movement, not just within sex worker organisations but also more broadly among our community.

That's contradiction of the of the Nordic Model itself. The policy claims to protect sex workers, yet often dismantles the very conditions - stable workplaces, visible markets, and shared safety infrastructure - that allow workers to operate more safely.

Sandwich makers rely on knives, cutting boards, gloves, and clean kitchens. However, under a system that criminalizes buyers & third parties, a landlord renting kitchen space could be accused of facilitating illegal sandwich activity.
The sandwich still exists. It is simply harder to make safely.
But to demonstrate that the policy is working, police begin conducting anti-sandwich operations to catch buyers. Politicians highlight the decline of visible sandwich shops as evidence of progress.
Things become even stranger when tools enter the conversation.
Unfortunately for policymakers, people continue to want sandwiches.
As a result, sandwiches move into quieter and less visible spaces. Customers become cautious due to the risk of arrest. What used to be a normal lunch counter turns into an informal, hidden transaction.
Now making sandwiches is legal, but buying them is illegal.
Running a sandwich shop, or advertising sandwiches, or renting space to make one is prohibited.
The sandwich maker isn't doing anything wrong; they are simply not allowed to have customers, kitchens, coworkers, or payment systems.
