"And One day too, this shall pass or, it won't" is written on a spray painted concrete barrier on a vacant lot. A spray painted wall lies behind. A pillow with pink flowers lies in the foreground.

Cheers!
It's pretty amazing how many times I've seen these episodes since I was a young kid and how I continue to find new ways to engage and relate to them as I grow older.
Re-watching TNG and it feels strangely coincidental to encounter 1991's "The Game" the same week Meta and Google are found liable in the social media addiction trial. Wesley Crusher resists an addictive game (which essentially has an endless mindless scroll) while his elders all fall victim.
A person sitting in a chair holds a sign that reads "Guardians of Pedophiles." The sign fully obscures their body. Circular blue and green shapes lie to their left on a playground.
Two elderly women sit on a raised flower bed in front of a one-story building. One woman holds a sign reading "No more family separation."
A man in a Mexican lucha libre mask stands next to a storefront. The store window features an Easter illustration of two bunnies carrying a basket of eggs and two carrots. The bunny ears and carrots mimic the shape of the man's mask.

A storage business with the sign "Broadway Storage" sits in the foreground at left. Large blue and green cylindrical liquid storage containers loom behind the building at right. An orange porta-potty sits at far right in front of the containers.

A torched car covered in graffiti lies next to a river. A railroad bridge is visible in the distance.
legacy of car travel
In the distance lies the MacArthur Bridge, which spans the Mississippi River in St. Louis. Today it carries trains, but the bridge once had an upper deck with a roadway. Route 66 used the bridge between 1929 and 1955. It closed to vehicles in 1981.

The text "Why?!" painted in brown paint on the white exterior of a building. Paint from the words drips down the wall. Black paint from graffiti above the word also drips down the wall.

A blue and yellow train car sit on tracks beside a road. The Gateway Arch rises behind them in the distance. Two guide wires in yellow sheaths from a telephone pole cut through the image in the foreground.

At left, a woman in a red winter hat pulls a hand truck toward a crosswalk on a street corner illuminated by the late afternoon sun. Three blue planters lie behind her. At right sits a boarded up storefront with a red awning. The shadow of the sun on the storefront matches the shape of the woman.

Cheers, that means a lot coming from you, Jim.
A weathered sign with handwritten text reads, "All I Want is for Morals, Honer [misspelled], and Love For God and Country to be Real Again!"
Morals, honer, and love for God and country
This one put me in a quandary. I found this sign crumpled and only half-visible in the hedge behind where it lays here. For my found words project, is it cheating to move it? Ethical dilemmas...

An extra layer of irony being that the US/UK-backed coup in 1953 was a key catalyst for the 1979 revolution
Sign on the edge of a sinkhole downtown that reads, "Dear 67th St. sinkhole: you think you're cute getting all the attention huh?? Well, you're nothing but a sidepiece sinkhole!

YES! Need to make another trip west
lmao, the later part of your take was along the lines of what I was thinking when I ran across this painting (how they imagine they are being viewed by others).
The original might unironically be one of my favorite paintings.
Illustration of a bare-chested man flexing his bicep while six men in different hair styles watch. Overlaid text reads “Operation Epic Fury.”
I'm still working on a project pairing historic paintings with new context.
This one features Osmar Schindler’s Muskelspiel (Muscle Flexing), 1907.
1. Two children sitting on a sofa with eyes closed. One of them is holding a videogame controller 2. Two taxidermy fawns, posed as if living in a museum case.
A big question for any artist is "When is it finished?". Often, the answer is "Well, never really - but at some point you just have to stop working on it."
My mum passing away a few weeks ago felt like a good place to stop with my project "Museum", & call it Finished.
