Another excellent episode. Thanks @janfran.bsky.social @antoinettelattouf.bsky.social
Best listen of the week.
@antoinettelattouf.bsky.social and @janfran.bsky.social are becoming one of my favourite parts of Wednesdays with “We Used to be Journos”
Listening to another cracker from @janfran.bsky.social and @antoinettelattouf.bsky.social and thought of these guys when they proposed a PR push for the media. Cheers!
A shoutout on this Friday to @antoinettelattouf.bsky.social and @janfran.bsky.social for their work on Ette Media the last few weeks,
Their YouTube show is worth a watch
Imagine thinking that THAT'S what "went wrong with Lattouf". A very cool answer from JS too. What even is this entire exchange?? Fucken hell.
What the heck is happening at Bendigo Writer's Festival???
Respect to Crikey for being the only place willing to cover the transformation in Australian media happening right now. No other outlet’s media reporters seem to think it’s interesting to their readers - couldn’t imagine why. www.crikey.com.au/2025/07/07/g...
Do I know anyone who uses Ghost as a subscription platform???

It's true. It is so good.
DONT YOU FKN DARE BESMIRSH OUR LUCILLE.
Quick Q - How many ABC community forums in Bankstown will it take to fix this?
Clicking through is somehow worse. mercy.
Yeah, I guess ethnic cleansing is a massive job.
Who'd have thought.
everything continues to be normal and fine.
Look ma, I'm finally white.
"In relation to the claim of racial discrimination. The ABC says that this claim must fail because Ms Lattouf has not proven there is a Lebanese, Arab or Middle Eastern race." Pls hold while I think about this statement for the next 12 to 24 years.
Yeah I get the click bait element/news traffic low etc but I don’t think that’s the bit that’s unsettling me. Not sure why I hate this so much but I plan to involuntarily think about it for the next 24-72 hours at a minimum.
Not that I’m averse to hot celeb goss but something about this makes me very unsettled.
The ABC does(did?) this all the time, just rip celeb news from Instagram - and it wasn’t even interesting celeb news, it was always Mathew McConaughey writes a birthday letter to his son or whatever…
So not to hate because I clicked, but why is there a whole article in the Guardian based entirely off one Instagram post from Paris Jackson?
News.
My @smh cartoon.
👀👀👀
Or should I say made it untenable for her to stay Lord have even more mercy!
And to think the ABC just let Nour walk outta that building Lord have mercy.
Nour Haydar’s lecture is vital listening for all Australian journalists www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...
Look, I have been thinking this.
