So this is really exciting!

Who here loves Professor Elemental, master of chap-hop?

Well, the good Prof is writing a song based on my Gyrford books! Hopefully out in June, and I'm so excited.

I'm not too superstitious, but considering the luck I've had, sending out contracts on Friday 13th is asking for trouble.

What an amazing convention @worldfantasy2025.bsky.social was. My creative spirit is recharged. Big thanks to the organisers, volunteers, panelists, publishers, judges, and redcoats who gave their souls for us mere mortals who attended. Thank you for your sacrifice!

Cover with blurbs 1:

The cover of Wiz Duo book 3 with stories by Ruthanna Emrys and Andrew Knighton.

The images are an old, wooden house seen against a mountainous background for Ruthanna's story; and a hiker walking towards the sunset in Andrew's.

Beside it are quotes from other authors:

“Two gorgeously written novellas exploring the ways that our connections to the land and to each other can be broken but also mended, these stories tell of bargains and sacrifices, and ultimately of hopeful futures.” — Sarah Brooks

“Beautiful and haunting.” — Anna Smith Spark

“Beautiful in cadence, powerful in imagery, gentle in spirit, Andrew Knighton’s work takes your heart’s ghosts on dances of things lost” — Danie Ware

“A story that reminds us of the permanence of dreams and the determination of the human spirit. You’ll never walk Britain’s pathways the same again.” – Charlotte Bond

Ghosts linger amid the fields of England, waiting to be summoned by passing feet. As a walker faces the spectres of his own grief, he's drawn into a struggle between the paths connecting us & the boundaries that cut us apart, in Walking a Wounded Land.

Had a great time at Humber SFF this evening - lovely bunch of people, interesting questions, and I do enjoy talking about books. Now waiting for a succession of late trains home with far fewer copies of my books than I set out with.

I am on tour right now with a book about two gay working class artists who died long before I was born. I’ve visited bookshops and libraries and galleries. And at every event I’ve been welcomed and there has been warmth and community. Books build empathy. The arts connect us. They just do.

A happy book says:
I'm so proud you chose me as your holiday read! I can't wait to start entertaining you!

A smiling drink says:
And I'm right here! Ready to keep you cool and refreshed while you read!

A gleeful phone adds:
Yay! So great! How about we kick things off with a load of the same old rubbish you always look at, plus some gloomy news and mavbe a few emails from work!!

Hours later...

The drink and book lie untouched.

The phone is out of view but a bubble reads:
Scroll Scroll Scroll Scroll Scroll

The book says
“I hate that guy.”
