I loved what the federal judge told Trump when he put a stop to his ballroom venture. (But gave him a 2 week reprieve.) The judge reminded Trump that he is only a steward of the WH. Jackie Kennedy said long ago that the WH is “the peoples’ house.” That enraged Trump.

Western democracies abolished the death penalty long ago. RED STATES have CP. FL & TX execute frequently but have higher rates of violent crime. Poverty drives crime; draconian sentencing deters nothing. It just fuels revenge.

I have been saying that for MONTHS but people on FB roll their eyes. Heather Cox Richardson recounted that one day she was taking a walk with another historian as they vented their frustration about Trump’s camps. Historians know how this always ends.

Why would u ask unless to help? As a senior on a fixed income, you’d never guess my SS income. it’s a miracle I keep the heat on. I eat 1x/day by opening a single portion can of soup and making it stretch 2 days. There’s a lot of hunger; expect it to get worse. (I am 5’7”, 115 pounds.)

A lot of people blame Merrick Garland for what’s happened but the Supreme Court was never going to allow Trump to be indicted. That’s why they dragged their feet on the Immunity decision. (US v Trump.) They were going to
find him immune for everything, even political assassinations.

The issue wasn’t Garland. Legal issues (like immunity) had to be resolved before he was prosecuted. Otherwise, his convictions would have been vacated. It’s not “my attitude” that gave us Trump. I apologize for having practiced law long enough to understand what was going on. SCOTUS dragged its feet
