Same cabochon and copper setting, now with a hand holding the cab out of the way so that the inner bezel to hold the stone up is visible.

Tonight I sat at at my jewelry station intending to work on a silver necklace project and not work with any stones.

Instead I started working with this medusa quartz for a copper wall hanging piece 🤪

My whole office has had these HR “skill assessment meetings” for everyone and one of the things is AI and I’m like I’ve got ethical and legal and cognitive concerns about that and I don’t use it thanks

My boss tried to be like well we have - nah man maybe you use it but I sure don’t 💀💀💀

“pickle,” aka the acid solution you drop freshly soldered silver/brass/copper/gold projects into for cleaning and tarnish removal.

A second marble and moon piece! I melted through two sets of prefab findings before I decided to make my own pin parts.

After I take some better photos, I’m gifting it to a coworker!

Front side of a round pendant made of a mottled blue, beige and green/orange stone. The stone looks a bit like the Earth, and is secured by a silver bezel. Peeking out to the northeast of the bezel is a stylized moon.

Concept sketch for the pendant in the previous photos. Front and back views with a color version of the front. Text reads “Earth and Moon pendant” and callouts that read “cut from center of back,” “bail,” and “weights to balance out moon?”

Marble & Moon 🌎🌕

Finally finished this pendant after struggling to solder the bezel to the backplate for several sessions! I’m really proud of how close it is to my original sketch.

I’ve been silversmithing for almost three weeks now! 🤪

I got my silver bench all set up on Saturday…and immediately melted through my first bezel done by myself.

Mostly figured it out on Sunday though - and the stones all worked on the post-pickle test fit!

The level of jealousy I have for this puppy tooth cannot be quantified by mortal means

(we’ve had like three puppies in this house and every single one of them managed to not give us a single baby tooth I’m so mad 😂)

One time I got a camera gimbal for like $125 or something ridiculous off marketplace because one of the joints was “broken”

Turns out it was overtightened but fixable with about 15 minutes of fiddling. Works for me, but did make me shake my head at all gear bros 🤪

I took two silversmith classes this week, and made my first pieces! Also, I met the shop cat and he let me give him skritches.

Ngl these photos are precious with the additional objects in the foreground. Are you trying to get those objects also in focus while attached to your lens?

This quote isnt just out of touch or disappointing, its fucking dark. Gay people are not a conversation parents need to have with their kids? Knowing gay people exist doesnt require therapy??

Any parents who thinks that way needs to have their kids removed ASAP. Get in a volcano, Pete.
