Rock good. Me like rock

I didn't really use the dev shells much myself, but I really enjoy being able to setup the whole OS in config files
NixOS has been my go-to for the ability to declaratively setup my system and create .nix files for Dev shells
Me once I'm done with Slay the Spire 2
Doesn't look like much, but big progress this weekend.
Like most things in Godot, it's been so gratifying learning more about what the engine can do for me.

Close up of a sleepy cat making a dumb face. Eyes squinty, neck rolls out.
My face when you try to tell me how AI is gonna revolutionize my workflow (it won't)
Bird's eye shot of a person on a couch. They have a blue blanket with a laptop in their lap. The latop has the godot game engine open on a script. A cat lays sleepily on the persons stomach / chest. Their sleepy face is very dumb (affectionate).
Uh yeah, I'm vibe coding (the vibe is being cozy with my cat)
A lot of factors to consider here, including that this isn’t a live service game, but I think the constant doomerism from media that doesn’t even ask developers their metric of success is not particularly useful.
I would 100% get this if I didn't already own every game in the bundle

I'm a Programmer currently working in Godot.
My main project right now is Card Game Engine, a template Godot project for creating your own digital card games.

I used to love peanut butter, then covid screwed up my taste buds and it's never been the same
It's giving Monster Hunter monster icon (in a good way)
Warning message from the Bluesky app stating "We ran out of posts from your follows. Here's the latest from Discover."
My brother in Christ, it's supposed to be a chronological timeline. The fuck do you mean you ran out
I am stunned every day that programmers as an entire class were offered a choice between "preserve the open-source ecosystem" and "deniably steal GPL-licensed code whenever you want" and slammed the button on the latter with zero hesitation. an incredibly complete act of industry cannibalism

This may be more correlation than causation, but a lot of people started to notice how often the site has issues once the dev team started loudly announcing how cool and good they think vibe coding is
I do eventually hit a point of diminishing returns, but I still find it to be "ending on a high note" in the sense of getting a fuller understanding of the system as a whole.
Interesting. For me, a lot of the enjoyment comes from working through the build craft of the game to see what's strong, what's viable, and/or what's fun.
Very slick
If the dung eater makes an appearance, it'll all be worth it

I miss when Warhammer 40k's 'Everyone forgot how computers work and now just pray to the machine-spirit to not fuck things up' was fanciful satire.
The #TurnBasedThursdsy ritual awakens me!
Currently working on a Card Game template project for Godot.
Just pushed out a big update, and have some more features coming down the pipeline soon.

"Special Thanks", "Inspirations", or "Learning Resources" seem appropriate to me
So to be in reductive, Darkest Dungeon x Carin?
Characteristics of Games is a great starting point imo. Easy read, but still plenty deep.

Well, I’ll tell you one thing about those trans people: they exist, and they deserve to be treated better on a societal and individual level.
