It’s really a mystery why you promote this grifter.

Musk and his doggie boys aren’t brave enough to serve their country as U.S. Peace Corps volunteers for two years. So, they are going to try to tear the agency down instead. www.reuters.com/world/us/us-...
I’m tattling on Trump for telling big fat lies.
Question on the USAID raid on Saturday by the "doge" people...it has been reported that the "doge" representatives threatened the USAID reps with "calling the federal marshals" if they weren't given access. Can anyone explain how the federal marshals would have had jurisdiction in this scenario?
Watching this Trump press conference about the plane crash is similar to watching a dress rehearsal for a SNL skit. Can’t wait for Saturday.
Nothing like watching a U.S. president spend about 30 seconds to express grief for the families of the plane crash victims and then immediately turn to blaming DEI programs and disabled people hired by the FAA for another 15 minutes. 🤨
BREAKING: Trump purports to fire Democratic EEOC Commissioner Jocelyn Samuels, whose term was supposed to end in 2026.

If you’re a journalist in the U.S. now overwhelmed by the volume of news you need to cover, here’s a reminder of your 1 simple focus: Tell the stories of how all that’s being said and done in DC right now impacts the people and communities in your audience. That’s what matters. Local news matters.
I very proudly told him that my cousin ALEXANDRA had stepped on it and broken my wrist while we were playing. I was sure that telling the president of the U.S. would finally get my cousin in trouble. Carter graciously laughed & said, “I hope you won’t let her do that again.” Alex got off scott free!
I met Jimmy Carter 1979 at a White House Christmas party for the press. My dad, who was a national corro for the NYT then, took me as his date. I was 9 and had a cast on my arm. When we reached the president and Mrs. Carter in the receiving line, he asked me what I had done to my arm. 1/2

NPR’s Joanna Kakissis is one of the best foreign journalists covering Ukraine since 2022. Her stories focus on regular but often remarkable Ukrainians and the impact Russian aggression has on their lives. Here’s a recent example:

Read this thread about a reporter’s experience covering a death row inmate’s back and forth in the legal system, and what eventually stole his spirit.
The AP is cutting 8% of its staff through buyouts. If this memo from the News Guild is correct, the buyout offer will target those who are 54.5 years or older. Imagine being 56 and going to work at the AP tomorrow like 😬...my employer wants me gone because of my age.
After this morning’ massive attack on Ukraine, folks in the capital quickly got back to enjoying their weekend on a sunny, fall day. This lucky cat got taken on a walk on a popular downtown park.
Reposting this to clarify that missile/drone attack threatens all of Ukraine at this point, with several explosions reported in cities such as Mykolaiv.
It seems that the long awaited big attack on Kyiv may be starting tonight. Several loud explosions heard in the center amid reports of multiple Russian missile launches

Not sure either story merits an "enjoy," so I hope they're thought-provoking, at the very least.
“News of the Los Angeles woman’s arrest comes at a time when the authoritarian nature of the Russian state is causing deep alarm in Western capitals.” To be sure, this arrest is an escalation. With @jaweedkaleem.bsky.social
