We hosted a visit of Intergrain Ltd a breeding company from Australia that specialises in wheat and barley breeding for Australian conditions.
Tim spent a few days with the BarleyMicroBreed team at their AGM as scientific advisor. It was great to learn about all the interesting work they are doing.🌾

We hosted a visit from Charlie Rohwer (University of Minnesota, USA) last week. Charlie is involved in breeding for disease resistance in horticultural crops including hops and a range of vegetables.
Students from the group have been involved in the annual Hutton Postgraduate event this week in Birnam. It was great to see the latest results from a broad range of projects.
Last week we all attended the Ecological Sciences Gathering in Aberdeen to catch up on the latest of what going on in the department
We hosted a visit to the institute of Darren Wells from University of Nottingham. He came to speak at the Barley Away Days, see our new facilities and discuss root research, specifically Lia’s project.
Tim visited IPK in Germany to give a Gatersleben Lecture and meet colleagues old and new. Lots of plans to work together in the future.
