Chart of Cambridge City Council candidates ranked by Cambridge Bike Safety in 2025. Candidates are grouped into three categories: Bike Safety Champions (Burhan Azeem, Marc McGovern, Sumbul Siddiqui, Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler, Ayah Al-Zubi, Dana Ray Bullister, and Ned Melanson), Bike Safety Supporters (Patricia Nolan, Catherine Zusy, LaQueen Battle, Peter Hsu, and Stan Rivkin), and Do Not Rank (Zion Sheron, E. Denise Simmons, Ayesha Wilson, Elizabeth Bisio, Tim Flaherty, John Hanratty, and Robert Winters).
Columns show whether each candidate is committed to completing the Cycling Safety Ordinance (CSO) in 2026, their street safety questionnaire grade, and their voting record on street safety if incumbent. Champions all commit to CSO; four incumbents have “Perfect” voting records. Supporters are mixed: some incumbents have mixed records and lower questionnaire grades (A–C). “Do Not Rank” candidates either oppose or did not commit to CSO, scored poorly or did not complete the questionnaire, or opposed safety votes as incumbents.
Legend: (I) = incumbent. Questionnaire grading scale: A+ > 95, A = 90–95, B = 80–90, C < 80. N/A indicates not completed or non-incumbent.
Today we're sharing a deeper dive into how we made our Council endorsements. We considered 3 major components: (1) a commitment to completing the CSO on schedule by 2026, (2) each candidate’s vision for the future drawn from our candidate questionnaire, and (3) the voting record of incumbents.
