We'll never be told specifically what it was that made him fail the vetting. Often the person being vetted is not even told why (though he may know if he just thinks about it) and the PM/civil servants definitely won't be informed.

It is a good thing there is nothing else important going on the world.
What we really need is political instability and enforced crises, cause by pearl-clutching over who knew what when at a time when we are a isolated, economically suffering former world power facing a crises easily as big as WW3.

Because he's not continuing negotiations. He never started any, he thinks he just gets to slam a deal on the table and they go wow and sign. And if not he gets to walk out. And threaten to bomb them.

Where was the outrage in the house when Johnson was appointed Foreign Secretary despite the PM at the time KNOWING he'd failed his security vetting?

The fact is he and all his people are abysmal negotiators - it's not a flipping barter on a fake watch, you don't say take it or leave it and walk away. You certainly don't throw a tantrum, stamp your feet and threaten. You take your time, and offer one or two things that appeal, find compromises.

I read somewhere that arose or arise were considered statistically the best starting words. I got bored using the same starter and enjoy the excitement of getting at least one yellow letter with a more random choice 🫣 Whatever I choose I rarely get beaten entirely - 3 lines is decent, 2 fab 1🔥
