[Day 16] Need to start doing some smaller pixel art stuff.

This is a 32x32 piece - figured I'd just make some 'wall posters' for like video games and such. I think for a few days just gonna do some random slogans and make pixel art for them.

i've just been busy with a lot of late night shifts so literally been doing just a couple minute doodles lately until i can get some more free time.

Didn't feel like doing anything today.

Decided to do more crystal practice. Not very happy with it but I gave myself only 30 minutes to do it so this time the challenge was speed with the limited palette.

I think if I just keep practicing one thing to get better it might help?

[Day 10] Felt like I was finally at the point where I wanted to do an #ArtFight card now that I've done two attacks.

Still plan to do more attacks using #pixelart cos each attack I've been learning new things and doing new techniques. Gonna try and keep the momentum going.

My second #ArtFight attack! This time on a lil' demonic goat named TsuBu TsuBu. Very happy with this piece.. getting better with mood setting.

[Day 8] Probably part of a bigger piece so I'm cheating a little bit. But so far pretty proud of these crystals - I dont think I like background gradients at all, but did want to play. I'll be re-doing this and adding onto it though.

I'm getting more confident with crystals at least.

[Day 7] It's been 1 WEEK since I started doing a thing a day.

Today, I wanted to make a VJ loop using pixel art (cos I'm a VJ IRL) just to see if I could. Kept it simple and did a diagonal stripe with an RGB effect. Animated purely in Aseprite and took a couple hours.

I really like your skeching process - do you usually have the same colours for different areas each time and its somewhat colour coded?

I'm gonna count this as my Day 6. Currently unwell and feeling under the weather.

I think theres an art in itself by having constraints and limitations!

Just imagine the people who had to develop games for the gameboy and only had like 1 MB to work with to develop a whole game.

I think changing mediums will always takes time and practice. Hardest part is keeping at it though

You see a red dragon wearing blue pants and a green hoodie as they hold in their hands a crystal and a fossil, though the crystal is shiny and definitely seems to be showing more interest in the shiny thing.

[Day 5] My very first #ArtFight attack!

I genuinely felt like I had to continue to refine this and it's definitely the longest I've spent on a piece so far. Really enjoyed the colours of the character and how to ramp between colours.

Okay, I reckon' I'm gonna attempt ArtFight. Mainly just because I think drawing for someone else and using someone elses character I think gives me more pressure to do good?

I'm gonna try and do day five of me doing art as an attack. We'll see if this is a bad idea or not.

A 16x16 pixel art version of Johari which is a kenku which is styled in the Spelunky Classic sprite

[Day 4] I struggled today, was trying to do some bigger pieces but struggling with even the basics.

Just to get something out today I decided to start an attempt to redo a sprite sheet for Spelunky Classic. So have a little 16x16 Johari using the Joh-32 Palette.

Finally back at home and back at my computer. Feels good to be back in my own space again.
