The service blvds should be local traffic/parking only with every other block going a different direction (except bikes).

All the cool kids have teal Terns!

Let me be in charge of the police department for a week and I'll generate enough revenue from traffic tickets to fund all the pensions.

Since we're doing Dog Discourse today, I just walked past a man walking his unleashed pitbull outside an elementary school at pick-up time and a park where the school cross country team was starting practice. What could possibly go wrong?!

If you're looking for a great transit-oriented pub while you're at this conference, take the light rail to the Shakespeare Hotel in Surry Hills. Order a pint of Serpent's Kiss. You're welcome.

Again, I have no idea what you’re talking about but you clearly just are looking for any reason to villainize people who disagree with you.

Now you're putting words in my mouth because I have no idea what you're talking about.

I don't even know what this means, but I like Abundance! You'll regularly find me at public meetings supporting new housing in Lincoln Park! I also like my kindergartener being in his public school with his fantastic teachers who all do wonderful work!

My husband just took our son to see the Mario movie, so I am eating Cheez-It’s and drinking a crisp Diet Pepsi on the couch while watching the NCAA gymnastics championships. This is the dream.

CPS will be in session on May 1, but agreement with CTU encourages students to attend afternoon rally The Chicago Teachers Union had wanted Chicago Public Schools to cancel classes on May 1, but newly installed CEO Macquline King pushed back. I have my quibbles with this agreement, but it's good news for CPS students and parents that kids will be IN SCHOOL on May 1. chicago.suntimes.com/education/20...

Mamdani hasn't had time to really think about all that space he now has, because he spends most of his time at City Hall and around New York City. He tries to keep a semblance of his old life by getting around the city on foot, by bike or train.

"If you spend every single day driving around in a tinted window security detail, you will have a very specific view of the city," he said. "You actually meet other New Yorkers and you break out of the bubble that so many have come to expect of politics, where politicians only seem to be spending time with other politicians or the people who donated to make them politicians."

I'd say that this applies to anyone traveling in a car in any city. Being in a car versus walking, riding, or taking transit fundamentally changes how you view a place and your relationship to it. I wish more leaders set this kind of example.

What the hell are these rush hour headways? The CTA is not a serious transit system.

There's no way this goes through, but I do appreciate Scott Kirby's utter hatred for American Airlines.

What's your experience? Are there any big differences you notice between a traditional forced air furnace/AC and a heat pump?

Do I know anyone in Chicago with a heat pump in their home? We are considering making the switch and I’d love to talk to someone about their experience.

Opinion | The Affordable Car Is Dead. What Happened? This is how cars got so ridiculously, forbiddingly expensive.

At several points in this article, people say that a car is a necessity on par with housing. *Transportation* is a necessity, and the death of affordable cars is one of many reasons why it is bad to make driving the only available transportation option. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Yeah, I think Michigan would be better off with some sort of transit connectivity. In my dream world, it's a tram, but I doubt Chicago has enough vision to make that happen.

The only thing that makes me hesitate about pedestrianizing Michigan Ave is its width. It's probably twice as wide as the street in this photo. It could feel cavernous.

One of Notre Dame’s best players ever! I’ll definitely come out to watch her with the Sky this season!
