That's a good question. Honestly, I don't use AI coding tools for my work, so I only experiment with them on side projects. I have found that they have improved over time but still fall short. I still have to read each line of code to be confident about what's happening and to catch the errors.

I am willing to learn AI tools for coding, but I'm not willing to stop applying rigorous understanding to my work.
I tried to do this but I was pelted with snow and hail. Not the best weather in Ontario for April.
Concerned to hear about the number of dead and missing scientists and hoping for the missing people's safe return.
Let's please trust the right people to do a thorough investigation and not entertain pseudoscientific conspiracy theories.
Visited the local bookstore / coffee shop today. One of my favourite things to do. Shoutout to The Big Guy's Little Coffee Shop.
Comic. [Person and person with white hat facing two boxes stacked with $80 price tag and sale tag on each box.] PERSON 1: They want $80 for this? I could make one myself for $10 in parts, an hour of work, a trip to the hardware store, another $30 in parts, another few hours of work, two more trips to the store for $20 more in parts, another hour of work to redo the first hour of work because I messed up, and $80 to buy this when the one I made breaks.

I only had one opportunity to visit this bookstore years ago, but it was magical.
That looks lovely
Happy World #Quantum Day!!
What better way to get onboard with quantum than to save 20% on an introductory book? 📖
As four humans flew around the far side of the Moon earlier this week, our reporter was in the heart of the Artemis II mission's operations base.

Annnd finished! Everything looks better with Nuln Oil.
NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, commander; left, Christina Koch, mission specialist; CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Jeremy Hansen, mission specialist; and NASA astronaut Victor Glover, Artemis II pilot, right, pose for a group photo after viewing the Orion spacecraft in the well deck of USS John P. Murtha, Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California.
Artemis II, both crew and capsule, all home and fully aboard.
On lighter news…
This is a real photograph (unprocessed, even) that is ONLY possible because the delay of the launch of Artemis II led to the moon’s positioning lining up for it to block the Sun like this.
That red dot slight to the right? Likely Mars, per comms.
We took this. Humanity took this.
My first payment for my trad published book is like 1,000 times more than my first payout for my self published book was 😂

Watching the CBC coverage of the return of the Artemis II crew to Earth.
Incredible to get to witness such a moment for science!
Inspired in particular by Jeremy, the Canadian astronaut on the crew.
Was a little surprised to learn the astronauts are aged around 50. So there's still time for me??
The capsule splashing down onto the water with the three red and white parachutes above it
Splashdown! Vehicle is stable and upright. “A perfect bulls-eye splash for Integrity and its four astronauts!” #Artemis

A T'au Empire battle suit being glued back together
My T'au Empire battle suits did not survive the move across the country without being a little bit... smashed to bits.
Time for some model glue!

Our paper on detecting terraformed planets is finally published: doi.org/10.3847/1538...
Context: we wanted a method to detect life in the universe that does not depend on any particular chemistry or hyperspecific definitions of life
