Kevin Loeffler can now browse the 2026 web on a 1997 handheld by reverse engineering its modem protocol and building a serial-to-HTTP gateway.
Learn how I used a serial cable, Python, and AT commands to get 1997's Tiger Game.com back on the web!

We basically stopped talking about nuclear winter. It hasn't been part of the popular discourse surrounding Russia, India/Pakistan, or Iran.
The inability to think about complex solutions explains so much about what's gone wrong these last few years. People crave an answer that is simple and easy but those don't exist for COVID, climate change, or any number of other problems that too many people would rather ignore.
"Quishing", or QR-code phishing, is on the rise!

Wrote a fun privacy tool called Privotron to help folks opt out of data broker databases (you know, the sites that trade your info likely without your knowledge or consent). It's actually a framework so the community can contribute "playbooks" to opt out of more brokers!
