Okay, I'll be honest and say that I had no idea this burrow was fully dug through. I had given her two "scrapes" under a cork slab, and she's been very Brachy about both of them.
Couldn't find her today, but there's TOES in that burrow!
Back leg toes too! Pretty sure it connects XD

I'll take this over the "hole of toes" I usually get XD
Hoping she finally decides to own the place and web it up!
side view of a tan tarantula with black leg tips. she's at her burrow entrance, and rarely seen in the day

Ahhh sweet!
My mature male GBB just wanders around like he's never been in this mall before. Haven't caught him under a hammock yet hahaha
That's likely a sperm web. He's getting date-ready!
Gotta be prepared y'know! XD
Most of the back half of a small tarantula sticking out from a premade burrow (by me) that is certainly large enough to fully fit her.
a top shot of the same position, but showing that her face didn't even make it inside. it's basically just three of her legs, and that was enough for today. clearly visible are the flame patterns on each of her knee joints
When Brachyies finally decide to use the burrow...

bright purple cup shaped flowers with very short stems (differs from standard tulips) that have yellow stamens in the center. the ground cover is light brown from dead leaves.
Oh! Here's a crocus!
Just in case you needed one.
I would love to have a full tank of lady balfouris, but I wouldn't want the responsibility of eventual overpopulation.
Once read a story of someone with a trio of adult ladies, and it just sounded like a delightful group XD
Glad your lady is still shining!
the same spide from the video, but lying fully on her back, legs spread wide. she molted overnight
And got this shot of her about 2 hours later LMAOOO
Looks kinda comfy? XD

Construction time!
Catching a tarantula mid-make is always a cool find!
Macks, my #Acanthoscurria #geniculata, deciding here is best.
DAYWALKER!
She's getting bold, peeps!
Out for another stroll, just chilling XD

a small black tarantula is perched over a water bottle cap, with 5 legs on it, and 3 legs on the glass walls. there's a cricket in her mouth, suggesting she is dunking the unfortunate morsel
Too true!
Here's Aurora using her waterdish as a dippy cup for the cricket in her mouth. ๐
a black spider with pink/grey hairs, stopped mid-climb of her wooden hide to place three feet on the glass. she looks as though she is pondering something, but is likely just resting, like an 8 legged cat
Vortex, my old lady Tliltocatl, appears to be looking out the glass, pondering her day.
Readers: it is this, for at least another 10 hours XD

a bored male tarantula enjoying life on the left while his shed exoskeleton from the previous molt lies buried under several mats of webbing to the right
Haven't posted a tarantula in a bit, so here's Mosaic performing:

the tips of tarantula legs showing from a web lined burrow. the webs are curved to form a tube like burrow entrance. she is able to traverse in and out, but would easily detect an intruder should they try.
the same spider, from the side, showing off her tan and black/blue body and legs. there are some fake plants giving some green to the scene.
a close up shot of her legs. the segments closest to her body are tan and fuzzy and the rest are all velvety black/blue. her bum is grey/tan.
The pit stirs!
Latches, my apparently adorable Monocentropus balfouri has come out for another full minute!
She lives under a small cork slab, but crickets get her movin'!

Pried myself away from Elden Ring long enough to buy THREE more Fittonias, and install them into my Porcellio leavis isopod enclosure! They take a long time eat these, so I gotta replace em eventually hahaha
Red is #2 up front.
The previous are in an ICU for now XD
Looks familiar!

New hoodie!
It's subtle without being subtle at all XD

And such detailed labels too!
Very nice!
a one inch mealworm takes up most of the frame, but a small yellow spider is on the far side of that worm, and has a mess of webbing attached to the plastic container they're all in. the spider is facing away, so we just get their butt and a few legs.
Apparently settled in just fine!
Still on this one massive mealworm, and it's likely the biggest food any tiny spider could get!
Those lil webs, just so cute!
#Cheiracanthium #spider
a incredibly blurry picture of a tiny 1/2" yellow sac spider hanging onto a small mealworm that is actually twice it's size, using it's fangs. this will be a lasting meal for this lil spider
Well I guess say hi to my new rescue!
This cute 5 legged yellow sac #spider legit WAVED ME DOWN last night. It had a tiny grey V shaped butt, so I scooped it, gave it water. When it's butt was full and yellow, gave a mealworm hahaha
Seems to be okay, almost... happy?
Hasn't let go at all today lol
OH!
OHHH!
Ohhhhhhh.....
Oh.
She's a BOY folks XD

She's a stressful one, but she made it! XD
WE WON!
She looks soooo verrry gooood!
Such a dramatic girl! Took her over a month to prepare her molting chamber, then took half a day to squeeze out!
Much tired, she'll get soft noms in week!

IT HAS BEGUN!

the shed exoskeleton from a small tarantula. the legs are curled towards the knees, the the "head' part is barely attached by a twist of skin. the horn that makes this species notable is clearly visible, and solid brown instead of the mottled gold/red of the rest.
close up of the cephalothorax or "head" showing better details of the horn. it resembles a shark fin but wider
She's too shy to show off her new 'fit, but this is what she kicked out of the dressing room!
Can't wait to peep that new horn!
#Ceratogyrus #darlingi #tarantula
Amazing!
Such a rad first pick for sure, and the rest are sweet too!
TY for sharing, and I'm excited for you too!
Ahhhh gotcha. All of mine have relaxed as they've gotten older, but maybe yours is just showing off the new 'fit! XD
