Hey, y'all. I'm looking for part-time work to buffer my finances in the face of big life costs. If you need a writer, editor, researcher, or anyone with skills commensurate with a 15-year journalist I would love to talk! Can offer up to 20 hrs/wk.

A four-panel comic called Instinct is Weird. In panel 1, a yellow warbler looks at a beautiful nest in a shrub and says "I made this for some reason". In panel 2, there are five eggs in the nest and she says "these are my smooth round children". In panel 3 an egg has hatched into a yelling hatchling, and she says "Oh no now it's loud". In panel 4 she looks distressed as five hatchlings now fill the nest, begging for food, and she says "help".
Hello new followers! Here's one of my favorite older comics.
Getting the opportunity to work on this fantastic anthology remains one of my proudest achievements. We shouldn't have to worry about our LGBTQIA+ kiddos but sadly we do. I hope these stories remind them that they are beautiful and powerful.
Oooo my commissions!!!
(Sharing appreciated)
I went in completely cold to both! Though I did see the theatrical special they did for Dandadan before it released which was really awesome.
Those are both the two that I've really resonated with too! I've also started up Sign of Affection but nothing really triggered that "I NEED the next episode" like Dungeon Meshi and Dandadan.
I have not been asked for a portfolio before during job interviews or searches (nor have I asked for them when looking for candidates) but that doesn't mean that they don't exist or can't be asked for. As a good rule of thumb, it is handy to have examples of your work to show.
To be honest, this will change place to place and depend a lot on the type of publishing you are looking to get into. It can be anything from previous books or editorial projects that you've worked on (if you have them) to just your resume if you are starting out. 1/2

Just know that there’s a bunch of agents out there, I imagine, editors, too, who are sitting on a pile of queries and subs they want to read, wishing they had time to read, maybe even wanting to sign or acquire, but can’t seem to find a shred of time to do so and still function!

MJ's @britperilli.bsky.social says, "Grab your garlic and some holy water (or pop open your collar, I won’t judge) as you sink your teeth into these anime titles." SpookyJawn's vampire week continues with a look at some anime flicks.
