While he is remembered by most as a woman, his veneration says that when he was accused of befouling a local woman he confessed to the crime because: "he would rather live as a sinful man than a chaste woman." That speaks to many as a sign that he would have liked to be called he/him.

For those that don't know, today is #Transgender Day of Remembrance. It's a day when we remember those that died forgotten by history, before they could live authentically, or as a result of hate. This year I am lighting a candle for Saint Marinos, a trans man venerated in Eastern Orthodoxy.

In my experience, bricks are really good at smashing things.

I'm really sorry that happened to you. It should never be used as a pejorative. I used it to describe myself because I want to embrace what I am and what I want to be. If anyone used it to describe someone else in a negative way around me, there would be serious words.

That's how I tend to think of myself, but then I don't mind my hard edges, either. I earned those.

Brick is a term used to describe oneself as feeling all sharp corners/rough, no curves/not soft. It basically means you are not very fem presenting. This can be a signifier of dysphoria, "I'm feeling bricky today" or a sign of pride, "I'm a Brick. Deal with it."

It can also be used as a pejorative.

I thought the Bricks are also the Dolls. Personally.
