Make no mistake — the Trump administration's new proposal to revise the ACIP will jeopardize access to vaccines, period. We must not allow the committee to be used to sow confusion & distrust.

Worth reading and reflecting on this essay by @madhupai.bsky.social. In Comox, BC I too felt grateful to receive my first dose of the vaccine five years ago this week and was so impressed by the smooth operation of the process in my community. I appreciate the global perspective highlighted here.

A fitting post on National Indigenous Nurses Day to highlight the career of Edith Monture and her many contributions to health care at home and overseas during WW1.

RIP to a great man. He was the unnamed UN official I was alluding to in an earlier post today.

As a global health scholar, Mr Lewis was a towering figure in my field. The nation should truly mourn this loss.

Why mathematicians are boycotting their biggest conference More than 1,500 mathematicians are demanding that their field’s most prestigious meeting be moved from the U.S.

Yes, holding international conferences in the US right now is a bad idea

- Visa and travel bans
- Risk of ICE detentions
- Racial profiling
- Human rights violations

It is very unsafe and these mathematicians are getting it!

🧵| We are clear: never again can nursing and the public be failed like they were during the COVID-19 pandemic. If we are to save lives in the future, governments must invest in nursing now. (1/4)

Measles in an ICE facility is a public health failure A marginalized population, a highly contagious disease, no systemic vaccination safeguards — no wonder there’s measles in an ICE detention facility.

Lies and Lawlessness The Camps, the Executions, and the Future

We have to see the logic of the killings as well as the killings themselves. The horror is a truth in itself. But it is also a sign of a political logic, one known from the totalitarian regimes of the twentieth century.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dedicated his life fighting for equity and justice. He taught us that even in the face of intimidation and discrimination, we must never stop working towards a better future – a lesson that feels especially relevant today.
